I don’t think it’s to the point of plagiarism, but it’s undeniable that the insomniac Spider-Man crew took some inspiration from the Arkham series. They’ve straight up, admitted in interviews that they took a lot of inspiration from “other superhero games” and although, I’m sure that included other Spider-Man games, but if you’re going to take notes from any superhero video game, you might as well pull from the most successful superhero video game series. After all “good artist borrow, great artist steal” but “imitation is the most sincere form of flattery”. Taking notes from one of their competitors just shows how much they respect and appreciate the Arum series as a quality piece of superhero media. I’m sure a lot of people at insomniac probably grew up playing these games.

I like all these points but with the first Spider-Man game, using these quirky attributions to stun and hit the bosses make the bosses feel too easy. With Spider-Man 2 the bosses are just more aggressive and (except for the symbiotes) feel much better to fight.

i feel like they made the boss fights feel similer is because of the critisim towards the first game bosses being very easy so in order to make them harder they intrueduce the parry so bosses would not just be webs and dodge

Another thing about both Bane and Kraven being similar is that they live for the thrill of the fight/hunt. Bane is a roid rage monster who loves the thrill of battle while Kraven loves tracking down and hunting his prey also we are finally getting a live action Kraven film this year!

Remember what Green Lantern said to Batman in the Sewers “Really Batman you don’t have any Superpowers”? Green Lantern doesn’t have powers neither without the ring and lantern battery which is more like an alien light nanotechnology. Green Lantern was letting Batman know without the Green Lantern tech he wouldn’t be taking the law into his own hands like Batman as a vigilante.
