The shopkeeper’s annunciation combined with me not knowing what a scarab was had me lost for a while. “Scarfs? I don’t have enough? Where do I get scarfs? Why does he want scarfs? Where are the pieces of winter neckwear?” It still sounds like he’s saying scarfs to me.

The most likely reason for Star Fox Adventures' existence is so that the Xbox would never get a Zelda clone that could outperform The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Sometimes, one has to wonder if Dinosaur Planet would sell well on Xbox.

The game became Star Fox Adventures on the N64, not on the GameCube, before the Xbox came out, when Rare was not for sale

@gregorioguerrero1124 However! The game became Star Fox Adventures before the auction to purchase Rare Ltd. began or even concluded. By the time it concluded with Microsoft winning the auction in 2001, Star Fox Adventures was too far into production to cancel all progress, unlike Donkey Kong Racing, which didn't even begin development at all. Hence why the project had to be rushed and released before Rare was set to start work with Microsoft in 2002. Had Nintendo not interfered and Dinosaur Planet remained as is, the project would have been postponed after moving to GameCube so that the conversion to Xbox would take place after the buyout.

They decided not to partake in the auction because they believed they themselves already had the talent for game development, so Rare was unnecessary to them even as an independent studio. Not to mention the language barriers, butting heads over the Donkey Kong IP, and the executive meddling of Goldeneye, Pro AM 64, and Dinosaur Planet.

One of the biggest mysteries in this game has always been the inclusion of mammoths as dinosaurs. Mammoths appeared long after dinosaurs went extinct, so categorizing them together is puzzling. It seems the game developers wanted a prehistoric creature suited to snowy environments. Perhaps they opted for mammoths because, although some dinosaurs like Pachyrhinosaurus and Troodon were later discovered to be warm-blooded and capable of surviving in cold climates, mammoths were a more recognizable choice for players.

It has been a very common phenomenon in fiction actually. Not sure if it's because the creators are oblivious of the fact or if they simply don't care because mammoths are pretty cool and still match the whole prehistoric theme.

It is also common for dinosaurs from very distantly separated eras to be depicted alongside each other at the same time in fiction, despite how they never even existed alongside each other. mammoths may be closer to the time period of some of the dinosaurs than some of the other dinosaurs were to other dinosaurs.

My biggest mystery is the faces and patterns found around the tunnel you blow up to get the white mushrooms for the Queen Earthwalker. I have seen nobody ever mention these!

If you haven't seen the Banjo Kazooie one I basically go through eveyr level and world of a game and look at all the textures and stuff that is easy to miss! This game is on my shortlist!!

Awesome video as usual, Jiggy! It has been ages since I last played this game and I remember liking it well enough. The game did feel fairly rushed, but I think that was due to Rare having to move the Dinosaur Planet N64 prototype over to the GameCube and replace the characters with the Star Fox characters. I honestly thought the final boss reveal with Andross was a bit silly. I would have loved an actual General Scales boss fight as there were so few boss fights in the game! It would be pretty great to see a remastered version of this game on modern hardware with updated mechanics and a lot of the cut content back. I don't think I ever noticed the pizza boxes in the background when I was younger, but that is pretty amusing! Maybe they just had R.O.B. 64 pick up the pizzas and added the cost to General Pepper's bill? 😅

One mystery that maybe is not very important since it's more a thing that it always was wondered in my head is: What things Slippy and Peppy were doing in the Great Fox while Fox was working?, I mean I know Slippy is an engineer and mechanic but I'm not sure of what things he was doing in the ship since there wasn't stuffs to fix and meanwhile Peppy was watching Fox in the planet by the monitors, I wonder how it did?, it did Fox had a hidden camera somewhere or what?. 😂

The enemy ships in the Arwing sections look like the missile thingies that the spires on the final planet piece shoot at you. They seem to be under General Scales' control, perhaps a technology that ghost Andross whispered to him in his sleep or something.

One thing I noticed about Krystal’s outfit is that it had tri symbols that resemble the triforce or triforce pieces. It got me thinking if Krystal or any previous ancestors of her could have been part of the Royal Hylian guardians, or maybe if Fox and Krystal were part of the Keaton race back in hyrule. That’s just one connection to legend of Zelda I had for the Starfox series.

Not sure if anyone already mentioned it: But in Star Fox 64, if you defeat Andross from the easy route, you don't see his brain form and he appears laughing after the credits, suggesting he survived. I always thought that Adventures takes the easy route ending as being the canonical one

​@@jiggylookbackHere are some interesting things to know about the red mushrooms: •You can hit it with a regular staff and it only gets stunned. •You can use any of the staff's attack upgrades like the fire blaster, both ground quake attacks and even the ice blast, to freeze and attack it, doesn't work either. No matter what attack you do to it, the red mushrooms can never be defeated, only stunned. It's similar to both the small grubtub mushrooms except red mushrooms never bounce away from the player nor can they be collected after being stunned. You can activate the staff's shield/force field (When you aren't "Z targeting" enemies nearby like the SharpClaw, for example) by them. The interesting thing is as Fox blocks the red mushrooms attack, he takes no damage but still has the coughing animation as if he did take damage. You can even try the Sharpclaw's disguise to attempt to sneak by them. Does it work? Unfortunately, no, it doesn't work. I don't know why. The red mushrooms will still attack Fox whether he wears a disguise or not. It makes me wonder, do the red mushrooms attack others, like the Sharpclaws and other dinosaurs, such as the Thorntails, if they get close? I've never seen it happen because I've never seen other characters, that aren't Fox and Tricky, get close to them. It would be interesting to see what might happen. Who or what put them there in the first place and why? The SharpClaws? The Thorntails? Any combination of the other dinosaur tribes or a combination of tribes working together to put them there? Or were they there before any of the dinosaurs were there and just naturally part of the planet? It's curious to wonder about the mysteries, if any, surrounding these red mushrooms.

Perhaps the Kazoa were ancient spirits and over time, they took a more faith based worship and when Andros came to the Dinosaur Planet he used that faith to his own twisted agenda to revive parts of his own body.

I like to believe the monster in the well isn't a danger at all, it's just a god of the after life asking for Tribute In exchange for benfits like talking to dead friends and family. I also imagine Krystal's staff is an Ancient artifact. From Dinosaur planet, which is why there's power up spots for it.

I love the game, the mix of technology and magic is always a fun combo, but I also do wish Miyamoto hadn't put star fox in it, we could've had a whole new rare series that could have continued to the present if it weren't tied to the Star Fox IP. And it may have been recieved better since people wouldn't go into it expexting a standard Star Fox game. Still one of my childhood favorites.
