That's why you have phones that have SD slots to add more. Not sure if Apple has that,but I got a 1000 dollar phone for 400 dollars on mecari (2021 Samsung galaxy note 10 plus) and I get three slots to add more storage. That or pay like 30 bucks a year for Google play storage.

But in this case, what the employee said could be kinda true if you take a lot of photos and install games that take up a lot of storage especially nowadays. Plus there is no way to upgrade your phone storage afterward so I would definitely consider what the employee said. I mean obviously, take into consideration your needs but also think about what the employee is trying to get at, in this case I would probably agree with the employee and maybe consider 256 GB as currently I find myself nearly running out of 128 GB.

I also got that in a samsung store and retail stores at the mall. They withhold the 128 GB and the only ones available is 256 GB. They also did that to 5G and 4G versions where the LTE models are just available. I just buy online instead.

For adults who use their phones for work, apps like Word and Google Doc can eat through storage if you have a ton of documents. Also the operating system on newer phones can take up to 25gb of your storage. Meaning that the 128gb iPhone is really a 100-108gb. And it's better to have more internal storage as the newer phones can not have an SD card. Meaning if you buy the 128gb phone, you are stuck with that storage unless you buy another phone.
