Thats how I jumped on the wheel of Women's Demi Vollering while she was doing 6watt/kg intervals on training camp in Spain. Its really cool to see how women's cycling become more popular every year

Annemiek van Vleuten rode up La Super Planche des Belles at 5.6w/kg in around 24mins. I was able to get her wattage soon after the stage(can't remember where now) so did the calculation at the time. However just put her VAM through the w/kg calculator for that climb and it came out at just under 5.4w/kg at the end of the stage. Which is still great. That's some serious wattage for anyone really! Not many of us can do 5w/kg even when fresh!

Yeah, top women can do around 5.2 for an hour. To put it in perspective if you live in a big city, your top dog male cat 1 racer, that is about him. If you top dog has much more than that he will be a domestic pro or world tour pro soon =)

@@JackMott even more mind blowing, Grace Brown won the 31st TT World Championships (2024) with a time of 39:16 over 29.9km (45.7km/h average roughly). Had she entered the Men's under 23 race (same parcours), she would have hit the top 20 (17th position). Most, if not all of the guys in that top 20 race at the Conti level.

From what I've heard, her 40 minute power (i.e. lower range of FTP) is low 290s. Relatively speaking her VO2 is supposed to be much better, though I haven't heard any numbers - but these intervals would suggest it.
@zwamman
@zwamman 7 ай бұрын
Her estimated weight is around 58kg. That would be an ftp of 5w/kg, indeed doing the vo2max at around 6 makes sense in that case. something tells me it's a tad higher though when shes in top shape.

@@pmcmpc how can you claim these numbers. Vollering has always kept numbers these to herself, since she considers this competition sensitive information. You just cannot know anything about her weight, so you must be guessing - just based on how she looks. So you could be really very wrong. Wouldn't you agree?

@@maxalexi3506 because you are probably not genetically blessed as she is? You will need a massive Vo2 to compete and be able to flush lactate out the muscles.
