Now that I think about it, the new skill that gives immunity to small attacks and no knock back would be perfect for dual blade mains

Not really, dual blade pretty much have constant minor hyper armor when attack in demon mode

This new skill is actually perfect for charge blade and Lance. The new skill can allow bigger shields block attacks with less knock back than ever before. Allowing for HUGE counter opportunities, especially with the increased flinch resistance allows the long counter animations to finish even if we get hit by a quick small attack. Not to mention the two points of offensive gaurd and wex on the new mitzu legs would stack intensly well with the Espinas armor skill.

@@phallenferret8695 not at all. It's like giving a blender a set of shaving blades when it already has better blades built in. There are armor pieces that are better for dual blades than the new Espinas set. But if you just wanna have fun with the new skill then it will still work very nicely with dual blades.

Oh my god; I used to main hammer in MHW and Iceborne... It took me 33m to beat Silver Rathalos w/a hammer.. I feel like Rise kind of pushed me toward CB and LS.

Peppo, what are your thoughts on punishing draw with the new LS playstyle? Seems like Spirit Release could potentially do a lot of stun since its a draw attack, but I haven't tried it. The tool tip says that you only gain stun for the 1st level of the perk, but it doesn't seem that 3 levels gives it more stun, only damage. But I could be wrong!

In what cases should you be using the regular spirit combo instead of the switch skill one?

If you just wanna have fun. I assume you're referring to the OG spirit 5-6 hit combo that fills your spirit gauge 1 level? Sakura slash easily surpasses it as a way to get your meter to Red the fastest, also for status buildup. I honestly can't think of a situation where Sakura slash isn't better than the OG spirit combo, maybe if you're trying to hit wings on teostra or rathalos.

@@lucscarabaeus typically it's generally just about player preferences. the spirit reckoning combo deal a bit more damage and the final hit can hit some part more easily, but the OG spirit slash will be instead always be faster.

I believe the times that Peppo does this is to raise the Spirit Gauge to red before using Sakura Slash for max DPS from the Skill. I like to do this, then combo into a Scroll Switch & follow up with a helmbreaker & Iai Slash to auto build the Spirit Gauge.

@@lucscarabaeus it's easier to connect and faster when using foresight or sacred sheath counter. the new one is best if you're trying to complete the whole combo from the beginning (or if you want/need the vertical slices for a monster with tall parts), the old one is better for counters, basically.

im ngl, the skill seems like it works better on lance, because damage reduction + that explosion would be wild on top of all the stuff lance can do. It would fr make it even more of a wall. Same with the new skill from the new violet mizu Regardless, its padding to ANY weapon and it fr makes long sword even more untouchable. The other skills really are are amazing with sakura slash.
