One thing I would add, just as a food for thought, is that maxed out heroes, in terms of max testing, means different things on web vs mobile. Importantly, web has pets. Which are hidden, outside of the team pet, when viewing the enemy team. Those pet patrons add many hundreds more combinations of attacking and defending teams to any given defensive position, even if there's a good shot at guessing which patrons are used. So it takes a lot more work to figure out a defense.

So. I don't always personally love Max Testing v "Current Team Testing" (I want both. I really really crave "Can I just test my team against exactly what I am facing right now?" and I wish we had it on Web.), but I absolutely agree with you here. One of the best uses of Max Testing is "Theory Crafting." Theory Crafting allows people playing on Web to sit down and say "If I'm playing against the best of the best with X lineup, how will we fare?" There's nothing exactly Anti-Scammy about letting players do this, because it increases their willingness to engage new reworks and test out how these new builds may proceed, following up with an increased willingness to spend on that hero, or if not them to spend on another hero. I think there's a short-sightedness that sometimes comes up from Nexters when it tries to push "You really need to be using this new version of X hero!" It happened with Lillith. When Judge was reworked, players did in fact start slotting him in to an extent as a response to Sebastian, though not necessarily that often on our server. But, when they pushed Lillith hard? The players just never took to her, and it felt like they wanted us to spend to make her great, and in reality? We were just never going to buy in. That said? I fully agree that we get hide-bound in Web. The OVERSATURATION of Dante is a very visible reminder that the fact that he becomes invulnerable for an extended time every time he uses his ultimate (which is problematic when compared to Luther, for example, whose downtime is not nearly as long) has led him to be a mechanic-breaking character used as a cheap way to guarantee wins, but also a way that has shown that players aren't willing to innovate. Ever. It's kind of a 'thing' on Web. I'd like to think I don't fall into it, as I've yielded on my original 3rd team plans and switched away from a Kiera build in favor of building up a HIeidi Pure Damage team, but I tend to think of myself as a bit of an exception in my willingness to try new concepts within the Web.

Agree on max testing. I built jji a couple months ago so this a bit unfortunate. Would have made more sense to rework Heidi as a fafnir counter anyway.

Basically since they are going to change the meta every 6 months to year focus on heroes that defeat hydras and grand arena ... defeating hydras makes your titans stronger which helps in guild wars and global championships

I think max testing can be both good and bad. Without it, I wouldn't be using a faf artemis team on web on my fun account. I would have just assumed artemis loses to everything (not just dante). However, without max testing, part of me wonders if the meta would have centralized around dante yet. It might still be an incredibly diverse meta rather than just dante spam. It might still be like that already, but there isn't really a way to know.

The drastically limited testing ability is one of this games biggest drawbacks, IMHO. I have mentioned this in comments, surveys and random HW forums for a couple years to no avail. I want current level testing to figure out how to beat some enemy right now, and max level testing to get a strategic plan on what teams or heroes I should invest in long term. This is *especially* important when the game maker is constantly tweaking existing characters and adding new ones or some new additional capabilities. I am looking to figure out how my team works together in the long run; I don’t expect to be able to predict the best battler that far in the future. I am tired of spending a ton of time and/or money on what amounts to a total crapshoot.

But JJI teams already had counter in FART, i don't think ppl will be upset because of this change. I have a JJI team that i am happy to use against Satori and Eternity teams and maybe will build Heidi team to have it as an alternative to FART against JJI

I think its great that a hero can get its spotlights back on. Heidi was left out for a long time and most people dont build it. Having at this position really places him higher on my priorities of building.

max testing does not guarantee success, but it does allow you to get a sense of where to invest to make a player happy which drives further investment

this game is already providing the attacking team so much of advantage...giving players the opportunity to do max testing makes getting successful defenses that much harder to accomplish. It's definitely frustrating to people who have either spent a lot of money or played this game significantly longer than newer players only for their higher-powered teams to lose to weaker opponents, especially if it's because they can train multiple times with max heroes they have not earned yet for ideas. They still need those heroes to be leveled up to win, but just throwing out the other side of things. The balance of this game needs to be leveled out more, not provide more of an advantage to the attacking team.

Yeah, I built JJI because this META looks great at that moment. I don’t know how I’ll feel if Heidi will crush JJI. For sure I will be dissapointed, but this kind of stuff already expected. There’s always another team to counter current META team. That’s how Nexter trick players to keep spending.

They doing this all the time why you surprised? Same happened to Keira with Corvus release. Khark with Andvari . Satori with Julius. To max hero team takes much more time than 9 months if you buying only valkiria favor!!! Without good titans you will be short of gold all the time and missing sparks aswell. Artifacts very difficult to maxed also. Even to craft items gold3 and 4 items takes months for 1 hero .....

@@timothymagnusson4861 Judge is overrated hero. Isaac also. If somebody wants to have good progress team around Julius it should be with Sebastian and Ginger. Ginger works great with Julius. I had team with Julius with some event where all Heroes were maxed (it was at OC version Hero Wars) and with Sebastian, Dante and can't remember rest, I lost only once from full Honour team, Luther and Tristan combination at front got Julius pretty easy. Only lost that I had.

Not sure what you're referring to. Heidi's rework is only for mobile right now. Max testing is only for web/pc.

I hate when they rework or Introduce a new hero that instantly makes a special lineup / META irrelevant. Like Andy to Karkh. I think that’s bullshit. If that hero helps to beat a certain meta team that’s fine. And: max testing is a must for mobile!

This might counter “fart” teams as well. Gonna be interesting to see how it plays out and how the skills actually translate. From my interpretation, what will roughly happen is the tank will get hit with stacks of toxin that will then be moved by the snake to the back hero(fafnir) which in turn could affect Artemis because fafnir is putting a shield on Artemis. Definitely a lot going on with the wording and it will be very interesting to see how it actually is in practice!

But overall yeah it seems like a VERY hard counter to JJI and I’d almost be curious if a tank and Heidi could take out JJI teams alone with how many shields they use 😂
