Giyu also saved him aswell as tanjiro and sanemi how was he the mvp? He slashed him a couple times which didn’t have any effect on muzan considering how he regenerated as soon as he slashed him. All the hashira had red blades while fighting muzan aswell as marks, yes obanai fought muzan in his base for a little but that doesn’t matter because like I said he did no dmg to muzan and he got his eyes slashed aswell while giyu was fighting the whole time with swords from dead demon slayers and gyomei and sanemi had injuries from there previous fight with koko.

@@Mannyylifts Giyu saved a weaker tanjiro and even then was when muzan wasn't focused on them. Giyu's best feats are deflecting muzan tentacles which is a bad feat. Giyu and sanemi needed to clash there blades to get red blades when obanai got with fair and square. Obanai also got see through world. Doesn't matter if muzan regened from those attacks. That's like saying that tanjiro was the MVP of entertainment district arc because he got the final hit whereas tengen only hit gyutaro which didn't effect him. There previous injuries don't matter, demon slayers themselves get stronger when they reach the brink of death. Moreover Giyu saving tanjiro isn't a big feat when obanai saved tanjiro when he was fucking blind. He saved tanjiro multiple times in critical times. Tanjiro was literally the only person who could stall muzan. Not only that but obanai also saved Giyu himself. The others had the advantage of marks meanwhile Obanai didn't.

The point is that sanemi and the others were at more of an advantage meanwhile Obanai wasn't. Sanemi and the rest started out with there marks meanwhile Obanai started at base and ended up getting mark, red blade and STW. The only hashira to get all that in a single battle. Obanai fought muzan for the longest too. Pre 4th drug muzan is still above every uppermoon. the Point is that Obanai was fighting the strongest person for a very long time while saving others. Throughout the series Obanai hated Tanjirou but in final fight with Muzan he sacrifice himself to save Tanjirou.. I had tears in my eyes while reading this part of the manga.. The depth of Obanai's back story is soo beautiful.. The fact that despite having a sad and tragic life he had in his childhood, he began to experience happiness and love through Mitsuri and the ending of their story is heart warming!! Iguro Obanai really is an outstanding character..

I first thought he looked pretty weak, but my jaw dropped when it was shown that his swordsmanship is so good, that his attacks can bend in impossible angles to reach the foe (like a snake). I don't think that many can understand how op is that skill: no matter how good your defense is, Obanai is always gonna ignore any obstacle and land a hit with precision; that's comparable with Akaza's Compass Needle technique. Obanai's Snake Breathing is arguably the best style for close range combat and duelling.

@@SaintBeowulf to be fair it’s been stated that Inosuke’s beast breathing was invented by him and it’s an actual budding new style that mimics animals in nature to expand his senses and such. The reason it looks like its just slashing straight it’s cause it’s still a basic style he hasn’t completely developed. Snake breathing is just a more refined beast breathing in my opinion. Instead of it being multiple animals it’s just a snake and it was also developed by the hashira who uses it. So it being made by one person doesn’t discount it from being an actual breathing style. This guy is just further in his path to develop it and specialized it more in one direction than Inosuke.
