Now imagine a man telling a woman she has “delectable thighs”… the media would have a meltdown, it must be so embarrassing for women how easily we breeze past those comments and don’t constantly cry about it.
@mariastephens18272 жыл бұрын
The only reason people seem to complain about this is they want to be able to tell a woman she has delectable thighs and whatnot, I think you ought to come up with a better excuse for why this makes you so upset before I take you seriously. Now then, here's the deal: The woman told richard this comment in a manner of satire and comedy. I do believe that if a man had said the same to her in the same manner, it would be acceptable.
@Gen74862 жыл бұрын
@@mariastephens1827 “The only reason”? How would you know how men feel Maria? I can tell you as a man, that isn’t the case at all. I don’t want to be able to tell women they have delectable thighs because I have a wife… I’d like to see less of the double standard that is clearly encroaching on our daily lives. My point wasn’t an “excuse” for men to say what they want, but merely a look at how women seemingly do get to say whatever they want, but only because as men, we do not pathetically cry about these trivial things, as women do. You’d think that the intent of satire and comedy would suffice, but for men, sadly it does not. Again, I don’t expect you to understand given the fact you’ve never been a man, but still, you tried your best to comprehend my point sweetheart and that’s all that matters.
@eswift83182 жыл бұрын
But you didn't breeze right past it, did you? Here you are, spilling your incel tears all over a bit from a comedy show
@mariastephens18272 жыл бұрын
@@Gen7486 Friend, I must tell you I am a person who has gone through lengths to understand every perspective. I don't believe it's so complicated that, because I'm not a man, I will never understand you. All you have to do is express your perspective and now I will see where you are coming from. I have heard the cry of the 'double-standard' many times, so this isn't new to me. But I would like you to tell me why you care so much about a 'double-standard' in the regard of making jokes like Thanyia did. Is it that you worry if a woman were to say something disgusting to you, no one would bat an eye? I find this unlikely to be the case, honestly. I'm not sure the double-standard exists here. In this case it was purely satire and I'm sure if the coins were flipped then a huge reaction would not be made.

Exactly, because the context of the last 100 years doesn't matter at all. Thank you this important insight! For far too long have we been at the mercy of context, shaping our behavior to be more considerate of others and what they've been through. What we need is omniequality based on random hypotheticals! It doesn't matter if for ages women were subject to far more predatory sexual advances than men, demeaned and openly evaluated on the merits of their bodies. Even by bringing this up, you'd be infringing on my right to say whatever the hell I want and not be considered a big dumb idiot.
