@@sionrouge1697 What does your comment have to do with the SURFACE of the tracks he raced on? Besides, Lava Man won 7 grade 1 races and he's in the Hall of Fame. Can't argue with his greatness when you know facts.

@@patriciaguth6882 you're mistaken activity for achievement. What was he running aginst? Man o war once won a race by 100 lengths. That's mighty impressive but the horse he ran against was a horse name Tomato can. A horse who never won anything.

Very sad about bararo. Unfortunately we never got to see that this horse was special and we Missed out on seeing how truly great he might of become. Secretariat to hear jockey tuccot and his morning excerzize rider say he was better on turf is unbelievable.

Been following horse racing for 55 years in the US, GB & Ireland. You can count on one hand the number of horses who have won a MAJOR FLAT RACE (a Derby, a Triple Crown Race, a Breeders Cup, a Prix de l'Arc, etc) on both Dirt & Turf. At the very highest level, the only place that is possible is in the USA because none of the Group 1/Classics in Europe (GB, Irl, France) are run on dirt. If City of Troy were to win the Breeders Cup Classic it will be the first time a European Derby Winner does.

This list is a joke. How do you not have Arazi or Johannesburg on this list ?

Or more notably, Phar Lap, Dr Fager and Candy Ride. He listed some good horses but left out some historically great ones.
