The town's name is derived from the Sanskrit words kona (“corner”) and arka (“sun”), a reference to the temple, *which was dedicated to the Hindu sun god Surya.*we didn't know that india has so many sun temple and importance of these temples, swami jee, It's matter of proud for us that these sun temple were used as a navigational point by European sailors. Wonderful anna🙏. In Kerala, there is a well known thanthric family called "Sooryakaladi mana". Stories tell that they got the sophisticated thanthirc combination from the sun. They worship the sun as a "witness' of every tantric process.Their main deity is "Ganapathy". Still, they are the most famous tantric scientists in Kerala.

Great video! One issue I have is the ASI's take over of the Katarmal Temple, they are already losing my hope in them as they are bluntly painting the temple in full white without any consideration in the original temple's aesthetics. I also doubt that their take over of all the temple operations will ensure a spiritual ambience, instead just an artificial attraction. Time will tell though...
