Not really. Having an extra 123 coins early in the game helps with certain purchases. Getting a Flower Tab or Frog coin later on is effortlessly pointless. You won't need many FPs until probably Moleville if you play conservatively. Besides, you can earn limitless Flowers from Booster Hill and the Mushroom Boy later. If you sell the wallet...the owner will stay mad at you. Forever.

Never played the original, but I’ve played the entire Mario and Luigi series and I’ve played paper Mario 64 and super paper Mario and enjoyed all those games. I heard a lot of good about this game, and it absolutely delivered

Honestly I'm glad they did a remake and I'm glad I spent the money, hoping Square will someday make a remake of Chrono Trigger. But, this remake is a shallow remake and it took away just as much charm as it added through the animations. That being said, I haven't finished the game yet so I don't have a complete body of work, but a lot of my fond memoriesdidn't get represented like I would have hoped, like a lot of the enemy spells seemed underwhelming.
