The problem is caused by the high numbers of people entering the country in short time. Turks and Syrians are both muslims and actually among the Arabs Syrians are the culturally closest to Turks yet there are some problems. I can't deny religion is tightly tied into the Culture. An average Muslim or Christian can do well togother, but in theory they both believe they are true believers, and only they are doing the true while the others are destined to hell. They believe their style is the right one, and they try to conserve their community. So, it is normal to have parallel communities living togother. But still when people integrated into the society, most of them somehow integrate. Jews lived thousands of years in Europe, they had been integrated but it had not stopped them to be persecuted. I am trying to find a land where there is no problem between different Religions, if we don't count extremists perhaps UK is such an example. Sometimes having strict nationality definitions etc can cause the problems. If the supreme French culture is well defined then the Arab that still Shops north african sausages from a halal butcher can be a problem. But if you make Curry your Cousine then the Indians cooking food in Britain would be well integrated. Emmigration is something beneficial as long as kept in control I believe. I am a Turk, and I love my culture and don't like the change. I don't like Arab sisha cafees in my country but, well, change is a natural thing. I believe the important thing is to keep things in control. Change is natural but it should not harm the society's well being. Also, humankind are racist in nature. Large numbers of emmigrants provoking that natural feelings in the society and it contribute to rise of far right. And far right is uncontrollable, it cause unreversable harms. I am not against immigration but it should be kept in control somehow. And also, there were Turks in Bulgaria that flying from Jivkovs policies. Some Turks of Turkey (although it was a very mild opposition) opposed to them. They were Turks, sharing same religion, speaking the same language. No one likes a large number of people to emmigrate into their land. It creates turmoil. My advice would be to educate their children, otherwise Sweeden will see the real rise of crime. Education is a must to avoid the emergence of a new social class from those refugees. If a new class emerges out of them then commiting crime would be more accepted amongst the new class since they would have grow up in a ghetto where all their role models are somehow criminals.

We lost contact with friends and family, and were labeled as far-right racists. Some lost their jobs, and many of us were threatened with losing our jobs. We were kicked off facebook and the newspapers cut out the comment sections because they couldn't stand anyone addressing the issues. The family still keeps their distance from us, but it probably goes both ways, because who can bear hanging out with siblings who have treated you like shit? The friends are long gone, but luckily we have our friends on social media who make life livable. That is, those who still have access to Facebook, which is where people meet.

I have a relative who tried to immigrate to Germany but failed. He studied in Germany and wanted to work and live there. He couldn't, and he had to leave the country as soon as he got his master's. He always says that it's ironic how the EU denies immigration to skilled and educated individuals, but almost unconditionally accepts refugees who aren't even willing to learn the local language.

In 2015-16 Sweden criticised denmark for closing down the boarder for immigrants. We were even called racists by some of the swedish politicians. As I Swede I have to quote Konstantin Kisin, the author of the book 'An immigrant's love letter to the West', when he says; "Not all immigrants are the same." During the 70's we had a huge influx of immigrants from South America because of what was going on there, and we never even noticed these immigrants. They integrated instantly, learned Swedish, worked, took care of themselves and became a part of our society. In the 90's when we got a lot of immigrants from Serbia, Bosnia and old Yugoslavia, most of them went unnoticed into our society, a few of them unfortunately created criminal organizations. But nothing that can even compare to the problems we have gotten from immigrants from the Middle East and Northern Africa, the Islamic countries. They are violent and misogynistic, and they have no intention whatsoever to be a part of our society. They hate the West, they are here with one purpose only and that is to Islamize the West. They try to change our laws, they try to cut into our democracy to bring on Islamic rules in OUR country, they use our tax money to start sharia schools and build mosques. Most of them don't work, they live on welfare. We have over 700 000 immigrants living on welfare, I.E. our tax money, in Sweden. This is not about race, it's about culture. Not all immigrants are the same.

It is pretty bad in Oslo as well imo. Studied there in 2018 and it was fine, the immigrants were first learning the language and then they could stay in Norway. I returned to Oslo this year and it doesn't look good, you can't see any Norwegians walking outside, only immigrants. They were even doing drugs on the main square on a bus stop. They sentenced people to deportation, but can always enforce it because of four problems: 1) countries won't accept deported criminals, that's why Sweden stopped any foreign aid to countries that won't. 2) International law don't allow you to deport people who will face death sentence or torture in their home country. 3) Higher courts tend to overrule the sentence because they are always soft on these people in spite of the lower courts and political policy. 4) Most crimes are commited by second generation immigrants, who were born here.

As an immigrant working and living in Norway, I must say that Sweden surprised me with how easily they granted work permits, permanent residency, and citizenship. In Norway, obtaining a work visa is limited to EU citizens or skilled workers. To secure permanent residency, one needs to undergo a language test and a "Samfunnskunnskap" (social studies) test. Citizenship requires passing a B1 oral language proficiency exam. I have a friend working in Sweden who holds Swedish citizenship, although his Swedish language proficiency is comparable to Tarzan's.

Absolutely spot on. The UK is exactly the same. Immigration only works in a strictly controlled manner and where the incoming assimilate into the cultures and values of the indigenous. My dad, a Swede, went last year to Stockholm to visit his siblings. He was attacked, on the street by an immigrant, my dad was pushed so hard, he fell and broke his hip. He's an 82 yo man. He said "The saddest part is that I don't think I'll be back, it's no longer for an old man like me to walk the streets". As a centrist from Ireland, I've always felt strongly that everyone should be treated equally regardless of race or gender. We are a country of people who have historically emmigrated and integrated into other societies around the world. However, I have a limit. There is only so many people countries like Sweden and Ireland can take in, and the people immigrating here should be those who have gone through the correct procedures to do so. Illegal immigration and those falsely seeking refuge should not be allowed in, and this should not be a controversial opinion. I moved to Sweden from another nordic country in 2019. This country is beautiful with mostly lovely people and great traditions. The biggest downside? The immigrants. No doubt. I was in Sweden in the 80’s and it was a mostly homogeneous peaceful country with incredibly polite people. When I was last there in 2006 the country had already dramatically changed. I moved to Sweden from England in the mid-1980s. Sweden was an absolute paradise then. Swedish people were friendly and welcoming. The immigrant groups back then were mainly from Finland, Chile, Italy, Turkey and Yugoslavia. Most of us got along fine with each other. Integration was never a big problem. As foreigners and guests in Sweden, we all appreciated the high standard of living, and everything that was good about living here. As a foreigner It just felt right to work and pay taxes into a system that everybody benefitted from. Unfortunately, many of the refugees and immigrants that have recently come to Sweden don't feel this sense of solidarity. They don't want to integrate and have little, or no interest in learning about Swedish culture, values and traditions. This naturally leaves them alienated. Many also have an attitude of entitlement. They expect the Swedish welfare system to take responsibilty for their needs, even though they have never contributed anything towards the welfare system. They would do well to understand that they have been given an opportunity to start new lives in Sweden. My advise to them would be to integrate and be thankful you are here. Instead of turning Sweden into a living hell, learn from earlier Immigrant groups who chose to fit in, and were prepared to help make Sweden a very good place to live.

I'm also going to give my impression of what's happening in Chile right now. There are bad and good people in every group, and this is a truth that must always be considered! I don't consider it right, as there is no guarantee that an immigrant will not try to apply laws that favor their beliefs or their country of origin. Precisely because there are good immigrants who want to work, to be useful to the country that welcomes them, and there are bad immigrants who are criminals or just going to enjoy the advantages that the country offers. I'm not saying that you can't help people, including immigrants, but you have to analyze whether you're really an honest person going through a bad time, or whether you're just someone who tries to take advantage of good citizens. Chile is currently going through a similar situation, with a large population of immigrants (many irregular) who consume State resources and do not contribute to anything... With this money after 9 months he bought a gray used Skoda wagon. The authorities later called him and asked what color wall he preferred. A few weeks ago a father was shot in the head in front of his 12-old son by a gang, just because he told them to deal drugs somewhere else. This was broad daylight. The boy witnessed his father executed just for wanting to keep his neighbourhood safe. No culprit has been caught or brought to justice for the crime. This "incident" is not an incident, shootings and excessive violence are overrunning all cities in Sweden from south to north. And it has become the new normal.

Heh. Well. So, I'm an international relations and european politics master's student. I have a teacher who specializes on the immigration crisis and you know, humanitarian ways of dealing with it. In 2013, she went to Bruxelles to present a pretty important paper warning of this but when she got there, she was at first rejected when they found out about her topic and barely managed to present in front of a room filled with both academics and politicians. They didn't boo her or anything when she finished, she just finished in complete and utter silence. No one said anything, there was a questioning time and no one asked any questions. Everyone wanted her off stage for fear of sparking controversy. Well, look where we are now. And she was totally right, and it's not like immigrants will stop coming, and there's probably loads of other academics who don't have their heads stuck up their asses and have warned of this. In fact, she theorizes that the next wave of immigrants will be even worse.

I know, the number of people who died of gun violence last year in Sweden was 60 people . The highest on record! To give you an idea of how bad that is, that is how many Americans are killed by guns in almost 12 HOURS! (40,167-were killed in the U.S.A.in 2023.) It is awful that a country would have a gun murder rate equal to 12 hours of life in America. You have to ask yourself, "Why don't they revolt" , what people would excep a annual murder rate that is like being in America for 1/2 day.

Very few *innocent* people are killed by guns in the US. And the US has more than 30 times the population of Sweden. So it would be like 900 people or so killed by guns in Sweden, and 3-400 legal gun owners in Sweden DO shoot themselves every year, which is of course not included here. And speaking of guns: we used to have no gun law in Sweden at all. The murder rate back then was just a fracture of what it is today, because guns won't magically shoot innocent people. Bad people with bad intentions shoot innocent people. Of course, the politicians won't make it easier for law-abiding people to own guns or let people carry guns, because then law-abiding people could actually defend themselves against criminal rapefugees.

Francis, I am not anti gun. I am for the right to have arms, in America and all places. And yes I have an agenda, that I share with you. But not an anti-gun one. My parents are immigrants and we live in Sweden. I personally consider myself part Swedish beacuse i was born and raised here. I've learnt the Swedish culture, the language and i have respect for this country. I think that we shouldn't judge people based on what a few people are doing because we are the same race or religion. I've kept my religion, which is Islam and in Islam we are not taught to destroy other peoples land. In fact we are tought to respect each other and respect other religions and cultures. And trust me. As someone who isn't ethnically Swedish, me and my family are affected by these gang wars just as much as others.

i grew up in sweden as a filipino immigrant. came back to sweden from another eu country 2020 because of covid and started working again in sweden. meet some refuges who i worked with. had no issue with these guys but i felt they clearly had an advantage integrating back into the society in sweden rather than a person who original came from sweden. example, stockholm is notoriously hard to find an appartment. so was i living with my parents travelling to work took me 1 and a half hour. looking for a flat i ask my coworkers if anyone has anything closer. one of this guys told me had a flat he did not use that was given too him by the state because of hes refuge status, he wanted to rent it out too me for 1100 euros, is is a crazy price i told him the flats was pratically free for him but of course he needed some profit from it. because he was living somewhere ells. this same guy who is from afghanistan who apparently fled the country because of the war, uploaded videos of him flying back to the same country going on vacations there yearly. i am kinda doubting theese refuge status, they should process this whole sitaution a bit better.

The same is starting to happen in Portugal. They are not interested in respecting the culture and rules of society. For them, Portugal is a stopover, where they spend 5 years to obtain nationality.
