I never did talent shows in school, but I do remember one of my first times performing, and that really helped my social anxiety as well. It was a showcase for my guitar class, and we had a few people singing. I sang "Heart of Gold", and I swear I remember being handed the microphone and then handing it right back. I'm told I sang well, but I don't remember a single second of it

I've had a similar experience. I was pretty quiet, but when I heard my school was doing a talent show, I wanted to do it. I didn't know what my talent was though. I considered comedy, but I decided I wasn't funny. I decided my talent would be "real estate" so I sold out school in a sketch, so in a roundabout way I ended up doing comedy. Everyone enjoyed it and now I'm considered a well established comedian. The cool thing is that when I started, I was one of a couple comedy acts, and now comedy is roughly a quarter of the perfomances.

Yes bro I understand that feeling of anxiety and stress when you audition for something and then having more stress and anxiety when you hear the results if you made it or not. I’m a saxophone player and I always tried out for honor band in middle school and high school but never got in till sophomore year as a first chair with a solo coming along with it...stressful times man let me tell ya lol.

I'm now starting to realize that me and FOAFY are pretty similar to each other. We have common interests like cartoons and music like Steven Universe, Phineas and Ferb, and SpongeBob and bands like The Beatles, Nirvana, Green Day, me and him were shy in school, we both play guitar and played in school talent shows, we also drew a lot in school. I even have the exact clothing of what he wore on his Eruption video. Napoleon Dynamite shirt and red shorts.

At a talent show at my school had pretty normal acts in the beginning. Singing pop songs, playing guitar and piano and ukulele and drums, etc. Someone even brought their dog and did tricks. The basic. For the last act, someone put on a stage mic, and pulled out a poetry book. I was curious why she needed a stationary mic instead of the normal stationary mic. Then, she went to the side of the stage and pulled at a FREAKING UNICYCLE. She then rode her unicycle around the stage while reading poetry about scoliosis (because she had scoliosis). Simple to say, it was great.

When I was in 8th grade, I played a show in school and we were supposed to play this song named Sweet Child o Mine and I was also nervous in front because the entire school watched my band as we played a classic rock song. My school's "talent show" was not an optional feature. The teachers literally forced the students, or forced me, to perform for the talent show. Got letters to my parents about how I refused to engage in school activities which my parents were not happy about or something and I was just forced into a talent show. To smack two sticks together for some sort of Mexican song or something. Wasn't allowed to use the wooden road or fish but to take two sticks and literally go "clack clack clack" for a full fifteen minutes. Was not the only one, everyone in my class was doing it. And the school called it a talent show so... Aside from your nerves. Yours sounds like it was fun.

So once for a talent show, My friends and I decided to perform a fan-made song based on a horror game. The song was cute, and you couldn't really tell that it was based on a horror game. We practiced for months and nailed the audition. Unfortunately, we decided to not tell them what the song was based on, as that could kill our chances. We ended up getting the part, and all was well... Until they found out. It was the day before the talent show, and We were excited until we got called to the principal's office. He ended up telling us that we couldn't perform the song, as he didn't want the younger kids to realize they the song was based on a horror game. BUT. We still had to perform something. In under 24 hours, we had to come up with something to perform in front of the entire school!!! We ended up doing really cheesy jokes in front of the school. I think we all died inside on that day

Once more you made me feel incredibly old. I left school in 2005 XD. Beyond that, I totally relate to beginners nerves when performing, *especially* when it's something others will like. I'm lucky to have gone to small anime conventions where they had talent shows, and even as an adult he's *miles* ahead in years than most of the attendees, there's always that tug-of-war between dreaming of performing and actually doing it. Hell, I'm still learning about what my vocal range is today! But the biggest lesson of this video? Believe in the power of metal, and you can overcome ANY obstacle! \m/

I preform on a talent show in my middle school, it was my first time doing a talent.
