7x7 for Skjei is nuts Pesce is going to age horribly, he was already not great this year at times. Ghost-Walker is half the price, for not that much of a drop off from them. Guentzel screwed us 100%... he asked mid-week, we met Thursday (shortly after mid-week) and he balked it and ran away. I wish him nothing but the worst

Ghost/Walker is going to give up goals left and right, and they are not a difficult pair to play against. Carolina became a lot easier to play against this offseason.

Pesce was already aging horribly the last two seasons , He gets beat wide by speed CONSTANTLY and the his partner has to guard two guys , And he gets beat coming out of the corner constantly and ends up the wrong side of the puck and he's never been very physical so its boom in the net . People wanted to pay that guy for 5-6 more years at 5.5-6 ? .

@ChillBlinton - I am peeved as well. I just got tickets to opening night so I can boo away. But I don't think the Canes are going to be as bad as people say. @Sethstrat is right on with the Defense. And as far as big names, in my book, we are only one PPG player away from being a contender again. Simply a one year transformation plan.

I’ve been wondering…did the Canes make offers to Turbo, Pesce, and Sjkei that they turned down? Or were they told they would not be re signed. I’m beginning to wonder if all 3 wanted to leave. If that’s the case, I’m finding it hard to believe Turbo wanted to leave. Maybe I’m grasping at straws but I’m still trying to wrap my head around what exactly happened.

Yes, I think heard Tulsky say that offers were made to all of the guys who left - but I can almost guarantee they were less than what the players were able to get elsewhere.

Maybe they got tired of playing for Mr. Rah Rah. Maybe they got tired of the boring system they play...Or maybe management wouldn't release the purse strings....i say its a little bit of both. Regardless of the reasons....the players they have signed are a joke. 3 of thems goal totals for last season dont add up to the goals scored by just Teravainen & Noesen. It boggles the mind.
