Ted, by choosing the high road, not choosing his pride and sticking to his principles, was able to (unintentionally) inflict more pain on Nate in the moment than if he’d broken here and slandered him. Interesting.

Ignore the bully. They want attention and when you take that away, they crumble. Sounds like another American these days...😅😅😅

@@aelix56There’s different forms of bullying. You are referring to a physical bully, usually those are brain dead and only rely on force in which like you said: one must fight back. Nate is not a fighter. He is a smart individual and with individuals who like to bully by playing mind games are seeking attention. For instance, Rubert was a bully through his status and shamed everyone. Once Rebecca stopped paying mind to him, he became agitated and his downfall began.

I love how when Rebecca is responding to him losing the audience with the baseball reference she mutters “a swing and a miss”, another baseball reference 😂 clever writing

I’m surprised Field of Dreams is a known film here. It’s like Ted lasso isn’t about football, field of dreams ain’t a baseball film.

“A swing and a miss” is also used in Cricket, which is a popular sport in England

Nate wanted Ted to insult him, he wanted to break Ted, to prove that Ted is the fraud Nate claimed Ted was and so Nate can justify his decisions

This scene reminds me of Act I, scene 4 of 'Cyrano de Bergerac', where the Viscount tries to insult him by saying "Your nose is very large.", to which Cyrano responds with a laundry list of better insults that the Viscount could have come up with, if only he were a more imaginative man...

I’ve just been introduced to Ted Lasso and have fallen in love with all the characters of this show. I will be sad if season 3 will be the final season.

He stated that it was only ever meant to have 3 seasons. That’s what they planned before they even started writing the script.

Most of my friends have the opinion that the 3rd season was not as good as the first 2, but I wasn't dissapointed at all. On one hand, it was probably because for me the show was always more than just about the jokes, I actually enjoyed a lot of those little lessons in psychology given particularly by Ted and occasionaly by some other people around him, but also because I love the football very much, and I find the story about the team really interesting. So I didn't miss the jokes, because we sure got a lot more flavorful scenes and more definitions to characters like Roy Kent and Nate, and even some other players on the team. For my money, this was the best show I've ever watched in my life, at least in the drama genre.

I think it's fair to see the 3rd season as weaker than the others; doesnt mean there werent moments of magic like this during it. I especially loved hid speech when Colin came out

It's not. I thought this was the low point of the series. Cringeworthy. It's a really good series otherwise. You should give it a shot.

You probably should not watch it. This scene was always meant to be painful, uncomfortable and cringy. It’s a great example of the makers skills. Eastenders will probably fit you better.
