Tere bin : The powerful actors wahaj, Yumna. Their performances as merasim is phenomenal. 4 episodes and they stole the hearts of audience with their firing chemistry. Waiting for episodes to uncover more about story.. Enemies to soulmates trope is my all time favorite. And tere bin is serving me angst love hate chemistry in a silver plate. Every dialogue has a foreshadowing for future episodes.. Murt and merab fighting with each other to fighting for each other. Merab breaking all stereotypes of that haveli. Much more to come.... Beautiful review mam thank you❤

Loving Tere Bin so much. And it's not just about Wahaj and Yumna being the leads. It's about powerful performance, sparkling chemistry, their funny cute banters, the family politics and secrecy, right set of values, the flow of story with logic, sensible and catchy dialogues, a crazy stalker and a college guy apparently in love, the action, the romance, their eye gazes and the ego clash because they both want it their way! And obviously Wahaj and Yumna really delivering it with perfection! 🙌🏻❤️

Basically she fainted because she was going through a very major emotional breakdown (that I think murtasim wasn't aware of or was,idk - will be revealed in the next ep!) And Murtasim slapping her was the point where she couldn't process more. So it's quite normal for her to faint in such a shocking situation

I have been keenly interested in Wahaj and Yumna’s expressions in each scene. To my understanding, I believe Murtasim already has a liking for Meerab. In the birthday scene where Mah-Begum announces the engagement, Murtasim is shocked. However, he creates scenarios that give away his hidden passion for Meerab. In the car chase sequence, followed by the hospital, we can see Murtasim’s concern for Meerab. He wants Meerab to be in his life. Perhaps as a challenge, but he doesn't want to let go of his egoistic nature. It's like saying, “ How can I be the first to agree to this engagement? Who does Meerab think she is that she will reject me? I am Murtasim. I can do whatever I want; however, Meerab cannot defy my family. ” Meerab is different, and Yumna has done a fantastic job of showing expressions. She is dissing the whole Family, including Murtasim. She knows what she wants and stays true to herself. Yumna’s acting in the unveiling scene was brilliant. She asked, “Who am I?” It brought shivers down my body. Imagine, one day, the person you love the most, tells you that the whole you lived is a lie. That got to hurt. Meerab confronts her adopted dad, beautifully executed. Kudos to the team.

Kuchh Unkahi: It's good to watch subtle acting and to hear GOOD URDU. OMG the dialogues had that old drama essence. And sajal - bilal fight scenes were so subtle. Those weren't uncomfortable to watch because of the normal voice tone of actors and natural acting of both of them. The sense of humour isn't insulting or humiliating (like in Saima A Chaudhary's dramas). No character is overshadowing others, even though Bilal and Sajal are big names. Even I loved the scene of house-help and even her character get defined in that one scene. And perhaps the only drama where house-help asked house owner to make tea 😍

Kuch Ankahi: I definitely enjoyed the first episode. It had that feel good factor and all the actors did a fabulous job. Though I do feel Sajal's makeup could be a bit lighter because as a property dealer, it's too dark! Bilal's acting was really good, I like how he slips in the character he is playing. I like Ali Safina and I want to see how his character pans out. Uff and how hot and sharp did Sherry look!!! *swoooooon* One thing that did disappoint me was the stereotypical portrayal of the Hindu house help. Seems like the makers of the drama tried to portray an Indian Hindu character than a Pakistani Hindu character. Pronouncing words s instead of sh and z instead of a j isn't a Hindu problem/thing, I have personally heard Muslims from North Indian rural areas pronouncing sh as s and z as j as in nasha as nasa and zeher as jeher. :) And nobody wears such a sophisticated saree to work. PS. Please review Meri Shehzadi again, you guys :(

There are shows that deserve to be a hit, but unfortunately they hardly ever get the deserved level of viewership. Instead it's completely shitty, cringey shows like Mere Humsafar and Kaisi teri khudgarzi that get millions of views. I don't know how anyone with more than 2 working brain cells can put up with that sort of content but that's how it is... Kuch Ankahi seems like a very well-written and sensible drama, so it might be futile to hope it gets views but let's hope anyways...

Tere Bin: I am expecting a lot of action, thrill, romance in the drama making it enjoyable. They have showed a sensible Murtesim, with some progressive dialogues. “ Woh ( meerab), behaya nahi”. Showed he didn’t take open minded, strong opinionated girls as behaya. “ Nafrat hae in larkion se ju Pak Damini ka dhong kar ke mardon ko apna aseer karti haen”. Breaking stereotypes, the drama showed a bold modern girl as righteous, and shammed hypocrisy by looking pious alone. He is attracted to Meerab, cares for her, is sensitive, and just when you started liking the character, came the sudden totally unnecessary slap which ruined impact. Justifying anger by girl’s attitude, normalising slaps only to create sensationalism for TRPs, and for a Poster Pose; otherwise it could have been easily avoided.

As much as I didn’t like the slap I do think it filled a purpose because in a walima promo, bushra ansari slaps her and yummns character says, like mother, like son. Really impressive performance so far and for me he has stolen the show! I also absolutely love his wardrobe choices!! I got to say Yumna really was so much better in these two episodes; performed fantastically in all the scenes. I loved that scene when Meerab walks in with the tea & both Murtaism & Meerab look at each other with aggression & passion at the same time - absolutely loved it. And then she sips the tea instead of giving it to him 😂 Wahaj & Yumna’s chemistry is getting better & better each episode! Good thing is by looking at the OST & teasers; Meerab will continue to challenge Murtasim after their marriage so she won’t ever be a bechari! Tere Bin is just ticking all boxes at the moment; performances, the cast, fast-moving engaging story, so many stereotypes being broken - its the best drama on TV right now!!

Kuch ankahi: This is an exercise in subtlety and old-school charm. Not surprising since I've always associated Md. Ahmed saab with class, and it reflects in his writing. Other than the realism and relatability factor of the characters where I can wholeheartedly say that I actually know someone like that in real life, some nuances truly made me sit up and pay attention. For e.g. when the lady who plays the hired help comes in and casually & w/o any discomfort requests Samia for a cup of tea...so beautifully done and sums up the power dynamics in the house. I wondered if I'd ever offered or how I'd respond to such a request. Made me re-examine my biases, and I'm glad for it. As they mentioned in the interview, no character was written as irrelevant to the plot which the writer &/ director would feel inclined to dispose of as they no longer add value as the story progresses. Loved it!

Hassan and Amna's take on "tere bin" was perfect. Even I thought the same thing. Meerub and murtasim have big Ego's and have tremendous anger issues but remain ethical and have higher moral compasses . Thats why you want to watch them . Even meerub is not a pseudo feminist that makes her character so much better . In the scene where her and murtasim argue and haya comes says that she has triggered him . She says that"why do you always defend him ,he always insults you" .meerub truly gives an advice to remember to haya . Thats what feminism is protect women . Meerub does that in the right way. It would be awesome they end up being friends and fight over guy .

Trust me it's not that easy to digest at once that you don't belong to the persons who once you consider your family.... It's actually appalling. So yes Meerub can fall but no worries after all our Prince Murtasim is there to hold her heart broken Princess 😉 and I am sure he will never disappoint the audience. By the way great review.

Tere bin - I loved how well executed the scene was where Haya is watching murtasim while he was sleeping. Her character being in love with murtasim makes 100% sense and the execution and haya's submissive stance reminded me of the leila/Christian grey scene from 50 shades. Murtasim, unknowingly, is very much attracted to Merub I feel. The reason they both are at each other's throats all the time, I feel, is because they're probably both attracted to each other and agitated because they don't understand why. It's going to be a riot to watch this show

Tere Bin: Isn't that slap a dream sequence? As in the very first episode we saw Murtasim's character taking a stand for women and doesn't tolerate anything against women and his own people. So makers showing the slap scene in the coming episode really doesn't make any sense. When he really has a soft spot for Meerab. The directors are at huge fault if they come up only for the TRP's. And also Haya was standing right there, it might be her dreaming of this. Bcz we all clearly know that was not needed in any context, though Meerab instigated first and her telling him beghairat and blaming him for everything seems pointless as well. Usko bhi toh shock laga tha when he got to know the truth. And I'm kinda shocked at the fact that it has a good pace while Geo usually drags everything. While we are still in the episode 4 and 5, we got all the revelations. I hope it meets our expectations and dont drag unnecessarily!! Can't trust Geo anyhow

It s not often I post a comment. Born and raised in Norway ,I work within family relations and see how stereotype rolemodels are in the prosess of breaking out of tradtional norms and regulations in the west as a result of to very different cultures (western -eastern-pakistani) melting together after 5 decades of interaction. Those young people who have connected themselves to religion combine now thr rights their religion gives them with values, norms and traditions of the norwegian culture that are similar to the way their religion teaches them to practise . Having said this I and many many other women and men love watching pakistani dramas . But most of us tend to get irritated when we see women portrayed as bechari s tolerated zulm in the name of sabr. Sabr is good. But even our deen teaches us to speak up for ourselves and others when you experience or see unjustice. So Tere bin is a breath of fresh air where you see strong women speaking up for themselves. After a very long time , I did not fast forward scenes in a drama because i dont want to see women being bechari and crying in every scene. Was actually quite captivated by the whole drama. For once i did not see a drama episode in ten minutes but actually sat out the whole 40 minutes. Finally!!!!!! Well done to the team of tere bin.

Thank you for an honest summary of Tere Bin….. I was tired of these comments ke Wahaj is copying Feroz and Danish …. Seriously at the end you guys said very well….. Murtsim is not a toxic character at all.

Tere Bin, Aik thi Laila and Kuch Unkahi what great and fun content. So different yet enjoyable! ptv is at peak with variety at this moment of me. Each of these require you to enter a different world with different elements. Good direction for all three! Bus scene from aik thi laila was so well-put together the music the kuttna the jhoomna! *chefs kiss*

Two solid, highly enjoyable dramas, over the weekend, Kuch Unkahi and Aik thi laila. Kuch Unkahi living up to expectations. Bilal and Sajjal are just perfect. A young girl as a property dealer is a breath of fresh air. Mystery around a dapper Sheharyar, Gorgeous Vaneeza, Babar; lots to look forward to. 👍 All praise and acclaims for such a lovely, different presentation of Aik thi Laila. Direction, acting, story, music, torture makeup in jail, all top notch. Well done! 👍

Kuch Ankahi's storyline despite being nothing new still was refreshing to watch. The treatment was so good. Bilal was the star of this episode. He stole the show. Everyone acted like they did before except him. He brought a novelty to Salman's still cliched character. Sajal's heavy makeup was a bit distraction but she and Bilal were cute together. But there was a dialogue which made me uncomfortable. When Sajal and Bilal were outside of client 's house and Sajal said she would yell and and Bilal showed her camera and said she won't be able to prove the harassment. It was an insensitive dialogue and scene and should have been cut.
@rabianaseer50872 жыл бұрын
And not to mention it's Bilal's 5th serial where he calmly mention false allegation. First Cheekh, then PKS, Dunk, Dobara. He is a wonderful actor but he should raise his voice against such scenes and dialogues.

Aamna ji didn't you find Shehryar character also out of Haseena ma'am 's script.A troubled rich mysterious character like Asif sir's character in Tanhaiyan is also standard in Haseena Ma'am's writing

Asif Raza Mir's character in Tanhaiyan wasnt of a "troubled rich mysterious guy"... he was very much straightforward with no daddy issues. Cant be compared to Shehryar's character in Kuch Ankahi

What would you like to say about sajal’s makeup.. don’t you think it is a little overdone ? Do they need to make a girl wear dark and loud lipstick and have untied wavy hair in order to show that she is gutsy, confident and outgoing .. She is a real estate agent and has to work outdoors .. Her dressing is fine and on point.. A more practical way could’ve been to have tied neat hair with an almost no makeup look for someone who is driving and working outdoors in this Karachi heat
@dumblydoor37412 жыл бұрын
I would have agree with you but then I thought that usually our dramas associate good girls with no make up look and vamps with bit heavy look.. so I liked the switch ..
@teadrinker12602 жыл бұрын
I agree with you on this, her makeup and hair was definitely over done. She didn't looked like a girl from middle class. Her clothes and jewellery, definitely took away from the character for me. She looked too superficial, in a setting which we are suppose to believe in normal middle class household.

To respond to Aamna's point, meerub's fainting and fragility in tere bin makes perfect sense. Not because meerub as a person is fragile, but because she's just received a huge mental shock (finding out about her adoption) and then a huge physical/emotional shock as well because we've established that this is not a girl who has ever been hit before and so she doesn't know what that feels like physically/emotionally. So combining her shock about her adoption plus the physical/emotional shock of being hit, makes perfect sense that meerub would faint. Those are hugely traumatizing experiences for any person but esp someone who hasn't experienced it before. Will say though, I can't condone the slap at all. Took away from wahaj's character a little bit for me.

Yesss uss slap ne mera bhi din bigada h.aur saari toxicity digestible h slap nhi
@minsazyhra58922 жыл бұрын
That slap can’t be justified, lekin agr uski dynamic ye hai k usny Meerab ko kamzor samaj kr nahi mara blky apny thakkar/ barabar ka smja or us k reaction mai Meerab bhi maar skthi thi but of course Meerab us wkt pehly he aik mental trauma sy guzri hai that’s why she couldn’t and fainted!

@@minsazyhra5892 oh bhai toh do you mean ki agar thappad aurat ko kamzor samjh ke na maare toh it's justified? Thappad marna hi galat h, chahe aap saamne wale ko kamzor smjho ya nahi. If as a man, you even raise your hand to slap a woman, that's disgusting and condemnable. You can't do that and still be shown a hero as it normalizes violence in countries where it's already normalized. Ya toh aap thappad na dikhaye ya aap thappad marne wale se baad mein pyaar ho jaega na dikhaye. Thappad pe toh ideally divorce ho jana chahiye bt itna normalized h humare deshon mein ki log sab mein compromise kar dete.
@minsazyhra58922 жыл бұрын
@@eshadey8214 When did I say it’s justified?? I said Meerab bhi aik 2 lagathi phir hisaab barabr hona tha tha k wo dubara haath na uthaye aurat pr. wo tho trauma ki waja sy behosh huwi!
@eshadey82142 жыл бұрын
@@minsazyhra5892 takkar smjh ke mara is kinda the same. In any situation, the act of hitting itself is wrong. Chahe meerab maare ye nahi, thappad marna is violence against women because in most cases wmn are physically weaker than men. Agar ek aadmi aurat pe maarne ke liye haath uthata bhi h, toh woh tak wrong h fr eg habs. Aur yahan toh usne laga bhi diya which is disgusting. Moreover, pak dramas mein ye thappad ya haath uthana staple h. Context bhi depend karta. The fact that ek aurat pe haath uthana itna normal h ki there's no outcry over it unlike kabir singh, that itself shows what's wrong. Har doosre serial mein thappad h isiliye bhi ye thappad hona hi nhi chahiye tha, chahe samne se thappad aaye ya nahi. The moment a man raises his hand to slap a woman, a red flag right there.

Kuch An Kahi: there were few more flaws. First scene, Aliya is on her way to work. 2nd scene (kabab scene) Aliya is home, although its still morning. When Aliya goes to meet Sehrish, she says "main client ko ghar dikhanay ja rahi hoon" but in fact she ís meeting the client to sell her house.

Kuch Ankahi however, I’m looking forward to. I’m loving the progressive family vibe, father and daughter collaboration and friendship that Haseena Muin’s dramas executed. I know Haseena Muin hasn’t written this one but am glad that the author was able to honor her style thus far. I don’t know when we went from such a progressive society that we were, I remember my childhood, to a backward, worry wort pessimists. The toxic dramas of the past decade have a role in shaping this negative mentality as well. That’s why media has a responsibility

Tere Bin: Four episodes down and the biggest intrigue in the story is Meerab and Murtasim's personality. Both are egoistic, have anger issues and show insane stubbornness. There is no white or black in them, both are equal sides of a coin. Meerab being Anwar's daughter is a good twist in story, if they manage to explain it well, as to why Anwar gave her to Ahmed in first place? Murtasim has nothing but been nice to Meerab yet she is constantly being rude to him, at all occasions. And I like that about her. Atleast we have a female lead who isn't bechari and have some characteristics, even if it is being ill-mannered. The slap in next episode has definitely caused a rage and it shouldn't have been done. But it looks like Meerab blamed Murtasim for everything, shouted at him, and even pushed him. And Murtasim being raised in a patriarchal household, it would have gotten a response nonetheless. Still he shouldn't have done it, regardless of the situation. Looking forward to the upcoming episodes.
@mahnoorqureshi32812 жыл бұрын
I think Meerab was deliberately being rude with Murtasim because she wanted him to say no to the rishta , as she knew no one would listen to her. She even kept telling him to go and refuse , while he said she should do that herself if she thought she was brave. So she was deliberately inciting him.
@rabianaseer50872 жыл бұрын
@@mahnoorqureshi3281 I think if she wouldd have been a bit calm with Murtasim, he would have listened to her. She multiple times agitated him and made it felt like he was dying to marry her which made him say that if you are brave, do it yourself.
@teadrinker12602 жыл бұрын
@@mahnoorqureshi3281 Yeah, she definitely ticks him off on purpose. Murtasim is quite calm around her. Even though, she is loud and mostly trying to anger him in every situation.

Bhai murtasim has been terrible to meerab. The way he dragged her into the car. Chalo uske agar chor bhi de, the pathetic jahil way he dragged her in the bday party and ruined her own party. Let's face it, Murtasim is a toxic hero. We re loving it due to meerab's fiesty nature and giving him a hard time + it's entertaining but it doesn't change facts that murtasim is a patriarchal toxic a hole. The bday sc does it for me, slap ka toh kya hi bole ewwwwwwwwwwwww.
@alyaaziz19492 жыл бұрын
@@rabianaseer5087 Agreed. It's a bit irritating the way she treats him. Also, her pushing him could have brought an egoistic reaction where he would marry her just to piss her off but may be there is something to Murtasim that doesn't warn her that we as an audience haven't seen yet.

#OnTheSpot Hassan and Aamna, I have a suggestion - though, it may be a lot of work, I think it would help us as viewers to find your past haute reviews more easily. For example, I'm currently watching Raqeeb Se and I wanted to watch your reviews to follow as I go along the episodes. This has been difficult to do :( In the descriptions perhaps, could you mention which episode of each drama you are reviewing. It would make it so much easier to find the old reviews and watch the dramas along with you. I understand doing this for all of your old reviews might be a crazy ask, so maybe in future episodes of haute reviews you could do this, so future viewers can more easily find your old reviews. Thank you!
@Mona330712 жыл бұрын
What I have done in the past is look at the dates the review was posted and then just put in each following weeks date in the search area. For example if Raqeeb se was reviewed on Aug 12 then put something haute Aug 19 and so on
