1st thing about time travel in mcu is that if something goes wrong in the past with infinity stones a new timeline is created rather than affecting the present timeline. Hence when avengers time traveeled into 2004 where loki was captured by the avengers he escapes with the tesseract, creating a nexus event and causing a new timeline. The time travelling and killing thanos was supposed to happen already in the timeline and it was pre determined so there will be no change, but since loki escaping with the tesseract wasnt planned he created a new timeline an a nexus event therefore the tv series : loki

Strange didn't trap thanos in time loop because firstly he already had reality Stone and even if strange traps him in loop thanos aims won't change and that way the whole universe will be trapped in the loop living the same moment again and again.. Dormamu was living in a place where time didn't exist, time loop was possible there. If we see realistically acc to Indian mythology, the whole universe already exists into a time loop. After every extinction of living beings, everything starts from zero and again ends. That is why, maybe Dr strange didn't try to trick thanos into time loop because time loop into a time loop is not possible. That is my theory.

there is another reason strange did not use the loop on thanos like he did on dormamu. dormamu is a dimensional thing. he is not completely a living being. Thanos is a living being. So for dormamu he would realiise and remember the previous incidents and get irriated in the loop and annoyed. But for thanos. he will not realize that he is in a time loop and every single other moment in a new loop. It would be a new moment,. He wont remember the past loops. So it did not make sense for strange to not use the loop on thanos

First question's obvious answer is that at the end of the day its just a movie and has been written before being shot hence they had the story of endgame already with them and knew that tony had to die and the 14crore possibilities reason is just a validation for it. Obviously in endgame it was foolish of rhodey to not notice the cured arm of nebula despite of seeing her damage it while taking the infinity stone
