None of this is strange and unusual. It's simple; the 1M is not a high performance track car, it's a backroad drivers car, hence the manual. The RS IS a high performance track car and hence has the fast gearbox.

I had owned several E46 M3’s, E90 M3, M2, Z3M Coupe, all with manual transmissions but the 1M is still my favorite to drive. It’s a keeper

I have a 2011 BMW 1M #154 of 220 for Canada also alpinewhite. One year production only. Enjoyed this video! Agree that it needs an exhaust. I usually roll with the windows down a little. It’s not the fastest car on track but it is a wonderful and enjoyable all around car.

Nice. I have a 1M. You wouldn’t sell it for a Porsche? That’s what I’ve been considering with it being fully built and almost track ready.

What separates this from modern M cars like the M2 is that the 1M has hydraulic steering
@nelsonlu58784 жыл бұрын
I really feel like he missed every point about why the 1M car is special. Got the production number wrong, didn't talk about steering, suspension components from the m3 competition or anything. Spent more time talking about that weird steering wheel and that "GT3 door handle" than what actually makes the car special. Really disappointed

i own a 1m and i totally disagree with people saying it has to be louder. It does not! Even driving casually on the hwy it has a bass tone to it that i would not want to be any louder at all.

Can never decide if the GT3 RS became only became legend from this generation because of the great gearbox when many argue it ruined it... I don't remember people hugely caring about the GT3 cars before

The N55 is single turbo because turbo tech had advanced to the point that it made twins redundant.
@smgs9214 жыл бұрын
ImBarryScottCSS it was chosen because it was capable of producing the desired power at a cheaper pricepoint. Everything done on the N55 was to reduce cost and it simplified the system resulting in slightly better reliability

All N54's get forged crankshaft. Not only the 1M. Thats why N54 are so popular, and handle mods and boost like no tomorrow ^^

@DoctorDrifts4 жыл бұрын
they literally took the E92 M3 suspension and threw it on the 1M. Basically Bmw said this is a lighter more compact, better car lets amp it up a bit. Threw all the M parts except the M3 engine and bam you have a 1M. However yes the Purists want a NA car and that literally why they have a Boner over the S65 engine. However the N54 is by far a better platform.

I will take 997 GT3RS instead of 991 GTR3S. BMW'S don't do anything for me. BMW just use JF transmission just like dodge alfa romeo noting special. Porsche is on other had use thier PDK not shared with anyone. Something special and PDK is just best auto transmission after Ferrari.

Hate to say this, but if you're going to review a car, get your information right, it's sloppy to get something wrong when you can easily Google it and save yourself the embarrassment, it makes everything you say on this channel your "opinion" and not factual information to viewers. The 1M has a total worldwide production of 6309, not "about 7000 of these", 770 in USA, and only 220 in Canada, totalling only 990 in North America.
