Watching a NURSE run offense after years of Doc has shown me just how bad a coach can affect a team. I was so sick of his bullshit, his iso heavy , stand still offense, never playing anyone outside his 7 favorite players. It would infuriate me, it always felt like the sixers were playing with fewer minutes than every other team in the league.

What Nick did in all those years for the Raptors was evidence enough that given the chance he could extract more from less from any prospective teams. That Griffin had issue with Stotts, an important assistant for building Lillard into a key piece, is such a bumpy start. Adrian is a Nurse understudy, hopefully it works out for him and the Bucks.

It's not the most complex but it fits the team perfectly: it gives simple solutions to Embiid getting trapped, makes good use of Tobias' and Batum's strengths and trusts Maxey with his varied palette of skills Nurse is a problem solving coach: he uses systems and offensive schemes but will adapt them to his teams and his opponents rather than create a offensive philosophy and stick with it

Nor that I am here to be a Doc defender but this offense was what Doc was running prior to the Harden trade. He did it with Ben the first year and again when Maxey had to take over the following year. We also saw it when everyone went down at the start of last season. Not having a ball dominate player like Harden opens up so much. The ball should have never been taken from Maxey. Harden should have been made to play off-ball. That is what Doc wanted from him but of course the breaded baby wouldn't adapt so now he in LA looking like a fool. With all that said, I do love what I am seeing from Nurse on both sides of the ball. I definitely feel as though we need to make a trade to get us over the top and believe Pascal should be the piece. I would hate to trade Harris based upon how he is playing now but someone has to be the sacrificial lamb. Maxey, Pascal, Joel and the depth pieces would be nice.

I think this is riding a bit of the shock factor right now. Teams have to rewrite game plans a bit and once they do sixers will prob be the third best team, although god the bucks look terrible. But I think you still need to play embiid off the court with uptempo. Which means you have to play good defense or else ur taking ball out of net and you won’t be able to push pace. You have to game plan maxey a lot more. And that will come. They haven’t really even forced adjustments from him yet. These two things will have a pretty dramatic impact I think.
