The league has tilted the game way in favor of the offensive player than the defensive player, which is the problem with the league. The offense and defense should have evolved equally, so they'd cancel each other out, but that hasn't happened in quite sometime. So yes, offensive players can show off their skills, but defenders (especially 1 on 1) are extremely limited. The funny thing, is international ball, I can see where this lack of exposure to physicality, where the defensive player has more leverage, bothers NBA players, especially the younger ones, where they end up having a tough time with guys who are far less talented and athletic.

Anyone who thinks zone defense is soft, don't know what they are talking about. My school team only has 2 bigs, and I need them on the lower blocks, so playing zone is ideal, so they are there to box out and rebound instead at the 3 point line defending their man while their team mates who are short are trying to rebound against taller opponents. The dynamics of your team should influence what style of play you choose to play. Because of this, my team will be a fast break team who will press and trap and press out to the side lines away from the paint. If I had a tall team, it would be the opposite.
