How the Cardinals Almost Traded for Wade Boggs

In 1989, the St. Louis Cardinals came close to acquiring Boston Red Sox third baseman Wade Boggs. one of the greatest players of all time. However, right before the trade could be finalized, it fell through. It didn't fall through due to any reason by the Cardinals or Red Sox, it fell through due to a third party, not even associated with any of the players involved.
