They didn't just destroy the integrity of the Bubba Strain, they used that business strategy and it imploded on them. It destroyed the stability of the Black Market by racing to the bottom to sell, which killed margins as product was getting better. It was smart if they were going to use the street momentum to cross over into the White Market, but they didn't. Everybody wanted the China Man work, but it was no money to be made after 1st hand prices were exposed. No margins mean no brokers or middle men to keep prices up at the end sell, which leads to slower through put. Eventually something will go wrong within the business and it's the end. Moral of the story; working with people will get you further than working against people in any form of business.

yep you had these guys competing against there own friends in prices going lower and lower until everyone found out how cheap it was to grow. then everyone expected the deals and it became the norm black market price. from 2400 canadian around 2002-2005 then lower and lower from there to around 1400 around 2015. then it dropped to under 1k and there was no money to be made and now sits around 500 a lb and no one wants it.

The exact same production methods have been used in Australia for years also by Chinese groups. The product is usually referred to as "Reds" and it always looks exactly the same no matter where it was grown. Sea of green technique and constant use of the same cuttings along with the absolute minimum of growth/flowering time to produce yields ends up with a product covered in red hairs and has a effect that never lasts as long as most other products but the prices are always competitive due to the scale of the operations involved.

Bubba Kush is prob my favorite tasting strain ever. My guy used to always have it and grow it from the 2007-2012 range. It has what I would call “streaks” of purple that came from the center of the bud. Very pretty golf ball nugs. He’d grow it indoor and outdoor and sometimes the outdoor was so insane youd think it was indoor with the only exception being maybe a little “fluffier” than indoor. That higher elevation mountain climate is the ultimate for growing dank. Wasn’t the strongest smoke ever, but overall just amazing. 2012 was the last time I had legit bubba kush when I got a clone from him. Made the whole dry room smell like coffee. Overpowered any other strain that was in there.

Not sure about that. Heard the largest underground bunker outside of Los Angeles ever busted in the late 90s was supplying the entire country with hundreds of kilos of something that didn't have a name. Later a guy named Bubba in Florida would find a seed in a bag he bought in Miami and grew it out and a friend of his said "oh, those are some nice little kush berries" when he saw the finished buds. He had no idea what Kush looked like, he was just trying to be funny at the time. But the name "Kush" stuck and later after Bubba brought a cutting of the mother out to a friend on the west coast, they started calling it "OG Kush". The guy who knew the growers of the underground bunker said the secret sauce was "Hash plant". It produces copious quantanties of resin, so it really elevated the THC content of strains after the late 90s. Hash Plant was a 3 way cross of hash producing indicas from Lebanon, Afghanistan and Morroco. That enabled them to cross it with Thai. And Northern Lights. So, "OG Kush" is really Thai x Hash Plant x Northern Lights. Cheers!

Here in Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 we called it China Bud 🇨🇳 or Chin and ya prices were good extremely cheap, but lots of headaches probly cuz of all the chemicals used we went through that China Bud between 2002-2005 and it was called M38 here in Canada 🇨🇦... There were a few reason's it was called M38 because it's grown in 38days but that seems to be fast maybe it was a 38day flowering period. In my opinion China Bud/ M38 fuk'd up the cannabis business it went from $240-300per ounce to everyone $150 like over night, and that's why a different products we worked with ❄ over night. It took over a decade to get the price back and then we became fully legal. I like the story, I got lots of good ones too. 👌

About 11 years ago, we use to hand out in a run down apartment building and chill, watched a really high end dealer do his thing and move up. The day came when his stash was made available & no walls or bearded wire was stopping us. Of the many, many strains, he had this crystalline structure over a long multicolor bud stalk, I swear that was LSD as it took us over 3 weeks to finish a single stalk and everyone who had a pull or 3 if brave was tripping balls...I thought it was just along those lines but seems that was a super variant of what we get today, chemically enhanced BS all crossed up like.... Totally transgender bud 😔

Its like the uk was once flooded with “cheese” most of which wasn’t real cheese and/or was just so poorly grown it didn’t resemble the real exodus cut or a decent cut from any of the seeds available. Soon everyone assumed cheese was always gonna be pretty shit-average mids weed at best. The same has happened now to stardawg and happened a short while ago to amnesia. that’s the new cheese. Amnesia and stardawg. So now whenever anyone says they got “dawg” you know it’s gonna be stinky at least but is also likely to be pretty mids at best, cheap but low quality. Proper grown sterdawg from a decent cut is actually really good tho but as before with cheese stardawg is now seen as the budget weed and people will assume it’s mids as standard so will only pay mids prices etc. Crazy how those strains where once fire (and still are if done properly etc) but have since been ruined by commercial growers who don’t know how (or care) to grow properly etc.

With my experience with the bubba Kush is that it's a low yielding plant. Very tight buds with big dark green leaves. One of the gassiest genetic strains I've ever had. Hard to prevent Bud rot though. I believe it just was a really good feminized seed that would come out with good genetic results every time. And being from Washington State I think i know which one you speak of.

Josh D has an interview out where he says Bubba is OG but when he sent it up to Canada he asked them to change the name and they started calling it Bubba. In the same interview he says when he sent it up to Norcal they called it Headband until a crop of Sour hermied and pollenated some of the OG/Bubba, the next batch started the headband we know today. But supposedly, according to Josh D, Og/Bubba/ and the original Headband are all the same

theyre not the same at all. theres og type kushs which are lanky and stretchy and then theres bubba type kushs that are short and bushy. headband came out of nyc. youre referring to the original bubba kush that was a lanky OG type but that cut is long gone. original OG made its way up to oregon where ghost (old forum dude) gave it to oregonkid, hence why josh is sometimes referred to as ghost og.
