I've never thought that I'll see anyone in my lifetime who can see the "defect" in those "open" spaces - as more & more people glamorise the warehouse so called homes. I enjoyed this video.

Hilarious! You are a genius! Such a joy listening to you and some common sense (backed up with so much sense making detailed and deep thinking and knowledge) really gives a breather. Presentation? Awesome. We laughed real hard! Thank you so much!

I enjoyed the video demonstrating how Greek and Roman design principles and proportions influenced western architecture. In a previous comment I mentioned the Moors in Spain (specifically the design of the Alhambra Palace) and you replied that you didn't know very much about Moorish architecture. I would suggest that you consider making a video on this topic because despite the fact that the Moors were an invading force and conquered southern Spain they had a relatively peaceful co-existence with the Catholic kings in the north of Spain and each court would send delegations to the other for trade purposes and to study their respective building styles. When the delegation returned to their own court they would incorporate what they had seen into their designs so both courts, the Moorish and the Catholic, were continually adapting and influencing each other and therefore a lot of Moorish design principles and proportions made there way into western architecture.

Thanks for the comment and background. I did know and you can clearly see the Moorish influence in western design. However, I will need to study the proportions and details before I can competently do a new video. I do love the topic and will dig into it more. Thanks for the encouragement.

Sorry but the Moors did not have a peaceful integration with the post classic world of Europe. They invaded Europe and it was brutal. There is no point is arguing about it as due to it happening 1300 years ago. Moorish architecture has a basis in classical Architecture due to the Romans being present in North Africa and the middle east. Greek classical world also interacted with North Africa world long before the Moorish even came to prominence. Ptolemaic post Alexander period was the foundation of the period.

Awesome. I love the bad architecture examples 🤣 it's smart to show those because it gets interior designers to trust you, because they know you're not advocating tacky classicism.

You keep saying we dont have a national code but everyone uses IRC by law. The changes to the code are usually MORE restrictive. Areas that have 90% of the population have the IRV at a higher level.
@BrentHull Жыл бұрын
Yes, what I meant is that all areas don't adhere to those rules and things change from city to city. We do work in many cities and each one is different. Thanks for helping clarify.

@@BrentHull I was advice on clarity I know you have a copy of the IRC code. KZbin is getting crowded with advice that's done by people "trained by inspectors" that never read or owned a code book but with brag about decades of work. Clarity on little things is important, you do an exceptional work and little things on communication point people in the right direction. Maybe get curious people to go look at codes. Maybe some quick screen shots of the online code to re-enforce checking before doing something new. It's tough to not just take an idea from you, but then I'll find out I was still "supposed to put that one bolt in there" before the new thing. I depend on ES docs when installing new products. I've been trying to go back and check code "around" the new product and make sure I don't miss something. Got Sunday morning time to type. Take care and thank you for what you're doing. It's nice to have a place to send people to show what true top tier homes look like. It's not just a panel folding door. : )

Having the moving picture that flips to another pic so quickly as a border behind the diagrams is very distracting and unpleasant visually. I can’t watch this video. I do love your videos generally.
