She addressed every single one of these things yesterday in Pittsburgh. She is speaking to those of whom you speak. It's a powerful message that she's taking on the road. Don't underestimate the power of the women's vote. Abortion is a bigger issue than most people in the media think. I also think that Taylor Swift will be bringing in the youth vote. Harris DOES say how she plans to address our country's challenges. As to the border, for instance, we HAD a bipartisan border bill, but Rump ordered that it not be passed, to serve his own selfish ends. I'm a 78 YO woman, and I damn well DO care about women's healthcare rights. The "number one problem in this country" is that millions of Americans apparently want to live under a dictatorship! Even Republicans who actually love this country see what a disaster another Rump presidency would involve. Groups like Leaving MAGA show that even some of the rusted-on base are breaking free. BTW: writing Clinton off because her tone was disagreeable is misogynistic twaddle! If we want to keep this country from being detroyed, the answer is to Vote Blue, up & down ballot, period.

Just spent 17 days solo travelling on an Iberian bus tour in Spain /Portugal/ Morroco. My travel companion sitting next to me on the bus was a 74 yr old evangelist from Tennessee. Talk about parallel universal realities. She thought #45 was the second coming of Christ and the democratic party was trying to get rid of the Constitution. She had previously spent a number of weeks in the UK prior to our tour. She said she couldn't understand why the BBC told so many lies about American politics. I asked her to watch many overseas channels to understand how the world veiws America. As an Australian, I found our conversations fascinating to listen to her utopian worldview, but I tried to be very considerate at all times. I just nodded, and I never said I thought #45 was a great representation of the antichrist. 😂 However, she kept repeating she was a constitutionalist to anyone who asked. Unfortunately, some other Australians on the bus questioned her statements, so in the end, she asked me why that, stating she followed the constitution caused raised eyebrows and laughter. I just said that in Australia, everyone follows our constitution. She was the most kindheart person I have ever met in a very long time. She gave to anyone who needed help. It didn't matter their race or colour but she did try to convert me to Jesus. I just said Jesus was one of many masters and I just follow my guides and angels. I considered myself so fortunate to have had her as my bus seat companion for 17 days. I got to witness a Trumpian world-view in person. My only wish is that she never gets hurt by the GOP lies and gaslighting.

Many seek information that confirms their bias. Confirmation bias is endemic to human nature. I applaud your equanimity in your approach. Equanimity is foundational to any spiritual discipline. Thomas Edsall’s recent column in NYT’s provides great insights into why the race is so close. I was certainly informed. Your comments are spot on. Put some army boots on so you are not walking on glass. This race will not be won on facts but emotions. We have two distinct camps stoking fear v stoking hope. I believe that the opportunity economy is the platform that bridges the gap. Crafting messages that will land for key strata, is key. Jobs are what lift all..trade and knowledge workers. I think in the coming decades knowledge workers are at risk. We must remember that in each camp they are pointing at the other as the party that will lead us into the brink. Your “New Deal” messaging resonates. Ps her speech at The Economic Club hits some of these points.

Even Kelyane Cornway talked about it during the Trump administration as they were supposed to work on it. Concerning housing, Kamala has talked about helping house owners and new owners. The rural voters should look at other news networks than Fox because half of what they are complaining about is being addressed by Kamala. It's hard to help those who chose to be lied to. Kamala has been welcoming those on the other side to work together, but they have to want to accept it, which they are not doing. She can't make them go against their will, even if it's in their best interest. She has been doing and talking about all these things you are saying. The problem with addiction and drug addiction ( I have it in my family) is that the addict will not accept to get help unless they are truly ready. This is what we are facing here. Are these "addicts" truly ready to accept help from us? Are they truly ready for a change? Thank you Whimsy for your reading that sheds more light on the complex situation we are facing right now.

@marypritchett115Ай бұрын
Truth be told and I never hear anyone point this out is in the early 2000’s early telemedicine laws allowed many people to buy opioids online. This became a huge problem as one could imagine. The DEA began closing down this pipeline around 2005 but it was too late because it produced millions of opiate addicts. There was nothing in place to help them other than the supply being shut down. The cartels were ready with cheap fentanyl. And so it began and continues. The children of those addicts are now addicts themselves.

I’ve been stunned to see fellow dems become just as hostile and condescending towards repubs because they feel a sort of repulsion regarding their views. This is nothing more than a knee jerk reaction and not a mature comprehension. We need to step up our game to reach across the aisle without contempt but true compassion and respect for creating a better future ❤

I totally understand your feelings. You are "Spot On" That is why we are on pins and needles this election.Vote ! your future depends on it 💙🇺🇸 The problem is compassion and empathy are out the window with this Cult mentality..kindness & positivity matters .Listen to your angels for guidance.Stay in the light and have faith.This too shall pass.

I will be totally honest I had surgery yesterday and my anesthesiologist was a Magat and it scared me to death because he was giving me nerve block in my leg and putting me under. Imagine knowing that someone who has no problem with trump’s record with taking life’s (IMHO) is putting meds n your body. I said I mine as well be pregnant and bleeding out in the parking lot, I felt like that was my chances as that point. Nothing against anyone personally but the truth is this is the PTSD people not only me are suffering from these same feelings. Someone needs to address this issue with members of society.

One issue voters carry a lot of weight but women’s health addresses everyone. We just have to hope the numbers are there Voting against democracy will hurt the short sighted voters worse than the “elites”. Scary and sad.

Whimsy, unfortunately the man and woman in the street can't do much about the country's problems. It would be great if you could get this advice to VP Harris and Walz.❤

i believe harris and walz are well aware of this!

Or Trump? Apparently he is not the magic bullet he leads many to believe he is.

Excellent points! I agree. I watched a short documentary about rural America and my eyes were opened. It still didn’t explain why they would vote for him though. They won’t benefit at all under him. 🤷🏼♀️

Al Gore also did not win because people did not vote because everyone else was voting. Every vote counts.

I think you expressed that well. Please, if you can, write that down and send it to Kamala and co.

I live in rural America- we have always been the minority. The focus has always been where the numbers are. Maybe we should ask help from the DEA in understanding how to get drugs off the streets of America- this one topic is a much larger problem than we choose to honestly accept as a nation…just my thoughts

There is a psychological component to drug addiction..as a society we should look at the reasons why we are so unhappy, what is in our food that makes us more prone to addiction, etc..etc…problems have many sides 😮
