I've spoken Haitian Creole since I was a child but was never was formally taught how to write it. I never knew there were letters such as "Ng", or "Oun". Interesting. I'm so used to letters consisting of one symbol, like in English or French.

Josie The word creole (kreyól) is a derogatory term, similar to the N word in the 1960s . Reframe from using that word with identifying the Haitian language. Refer to the Haitian language as “Haitian.”

simple gaming The term creole is similar to the N word that was popular in identifying African Americans in the 1960s . Just refer to our language as “Haitian” .

-06/26/2023 @ 0748- I don't get why books and videos start immediately with conversations instead of starting with the most basic pronunciations of vowels and consonants. That learning method is a terrible blind dive into frustrations.

Before watching this video I thought the following letters were pronounced: G /ge/ J /ʒe/ K /ke/ Y /je/ Z /ze/ And for non-native letters, I still think: Q /ki/ or /kʏ/ X /iks/ Also, where's U? The letter U by itself is used in a few words, isn't it? U /ʏ/ turkwaz, avanturye, and a few others
