I have similar setup now but my hotspot does not show up in the Helium Black wallet app like yours. If i click connect hotspot, it search bluetooth enabled hostpot and fails.

What is the point of these things? Is there any speed increase in being connected to one of these rather than the tmobile towers helium uses? It just seems like extra latency to me and an unnecessary middle man.

No. It runs off wifi. It doesn’t provide its own internet, it reroutes the data throw Helium mobile which provides better signal coverage. This is all about getting better signal coverage not providing internet service.

So correct me im wrong you can only get rewards on the hotspot only if other helium mobiles devices connect? So basically if i put the hotspot else where like my parents house i have to pray that ppl in that area have helium mobile to get rewards

You get paid for both Proof Of Coverage and Data. So even if no one is offloading data to your hotspot with a Mobile plan you still receive your daily POC rewards. Obviously you’ll make more if you’re earning both POC and Data rewards.

speaking currently...if you put a mobile hotspot in a bar where there is high traffic, can you earn more than if you had it in your house or have they not started paying for data? and this only works if the customer has a MOBILE plan? If so odds not likely that many people have that plan yet.

That's likely the only rewards he's receiving. He has wifi in his house, so none of the phones he mentioned in his example would be passing data through the hotspot since they would all be on wifi.
