I've always struggled with education and just learned that I'm a kinesthetic/tactical learner. I've been in college off and on since 2010 and burn out because I was taught to learn in a manner I struggle with. I need more ways to understand how to go about learning. Or I'm afraid I'll never make it through college. I appreciate this video and wish to see more.

Hi Hawaiian! Michael's response to your comment is, "My heart goes out to you. Certain subjects are more abstract and are therefore difficult for the "K" learner. The more a "K" learner can convert concepts into concrete representations - the easier the learning. Certain Universities specialize in accommodating non-visual learners." Michael has a PDF sheet he think could be resourceful for you and would love to send it to you. Do you have a good email address we could send it to? Feel free to email me at alicia@michaelgrinder.com so that I can send you that document from Michael. Thanks! Alicia (Social Media Representative for Michael Grinder & Associates)

Makes me want to cry that THIS is how my son learns. So simple and it makes such a huge difference. Going to do my best to teach him HIS way.

I am going into 8th grade and I just figured out with the help of my mom that I am a kinesethic learner. Which explains why all those years I can not sit still and listen at the same time I have to do something.

That is really cool that you and your mom have made that discovery! Hopefully this will be helpful to you as you figure out what are the best ways for you to learn! Thanks for sharing!

I never even knew there were different types of learners until I recently saw The Rookie and one of the officers was told he was a kinesthetic learner. I tried to go to college and even transferred through about 7 different schools because I didn’t know why I couldn’t do it. All that reading and writing just didn’t do it for me. I have severe amounts of ADHD and have learned that I need to actively move to absorb and process knowledge. I recently watched a video that advised taking 5 minute active breaks for every 20 minutes of study. I always learned best from experiences. It’s why languages have been easier for me to learn. If you shove a book in my face, my light and excitement are gonna burn out really quick.

Wow, awesome video! The middle column is something I've struggled with all my life, but couldn't ever really understand why. Particularly the demonstration with the devision symbols really made something click for me that never had before. The sort of "tactile-sounding" sounds of the mechanism seem to go a long way in making it feel more concrete for me

I’m an instructional designer for automotive technology. I believe I’m a tactile learner (hands-on). I would instinctually assume most automotive technicians are. One we have an understanding of how something operates, only then can I read and visually (in my head) follow what I’m reading. I can’t sit long enough to read a book but I can read technical instructions as I apply it. I’m good at putting ikea furniture together. Would you agree Im a tactile learner?

How do you take tests or teach children to take tests and quizzes
@priscillasim66084 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, I love your video. Thanks for sharing. However, I still have trouble understanding how to convert learning materials into movements so that my young kinesthetic kid in primary school can understand. Particularly, I find it difficult to teach languages using movements. I have done a fair bit of Googling but still feel lost. Appreciate any help possible please. Thanks.

Hi Priscilla! I encourage you to specifically google: total body response for language learning. This might help you as you are supporting your child.

+Erik Garcia Thanks for the question! I would recommend that you check out our playlist titled, "Education"(kzbin.info/aero/PLRwI-DrsgXi7D5BJyxwqyB1bnuywA_XMy).
