How The Lord's Prayer Can Change You

In his message from TGC Chicago's 2022 Regional Conference, Colin Smith teaches us how to pray the Lord’s prayer through five specific categories, drawing from Luke 11 when Jesus’s disciples actually requested that Jesus teach them to pray, not how to pray.
Smith highlights five things on which to focus while praying:
1. God’s name should be honored in prayer. We ought to pray that God would raise up people who know him in the midst of a world that despises him.
2. As we pray that God’s kingdom comes, we should ask that our lives be more fully submitted to Christ and that Jesus would defeat his enemies on earth.
3. Pray for others whose needs are greater than our own-this stirs up Christlike compassion in our hearts as we fully depend on God at every step of his provision.
4. Pray for forgiveness, not because we haven’t already been forgiven, but to restore fellowship with God. As Christians, we should want to walk as closely as possible with God.
5. Pray to be watchful and prayerful so as to not be overwhelmed by temptation.
As we more fully know the love of the Father, we will desire to earnestly seek him in prayer.

Greetings to you Colin all the way from Ireland from a woman, now in her 85th year and gloriously saved by the very great grace of God out of Roman Catholicism thank God, quickly followed by my late husband and my daughter with whom I now live. As you probably know RCC teaches their sadly misguided and deceived members, to say the Lord's Prayer, rote fashion and also in the Rosary, only once for every Hail Mary. Please lift these dear people us in prayer for their salvation, and may He very greatly bless you for that wonderful and very much needed teaching on the Lord's Prayer and please know that I will be sharing it with many others please God, the vast number of them Roman Catholics, very sadly as yet unsaved.

All we could ask or need come under these 5 things. Use it as a template for prayer. When you pray think of which heading your prayer belongs. Martin Luther wrote book "A Simple Way To Pray" God's name: Heaven frames the Lord's name as hallowed. The Angels never cease to say Holy Holy Holy is the Lord God Almighty. Never ceasing worship. God's name is always honored. (On earth God's name is blasphemed Isaiah 52:5) Now therefore, what have I here, saith the Lord, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the Lord; and my name continually every day is blasphemed. Isiah 52:5 The answer to a world that despises God's name is a people who know His name. Here is the sting in the tail. For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written. 24 For, as it is written, "The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you." Rom 2:24 If we bear his name and do not live for His glory. Instead of being the answer we are the cause of people stumbling. Lord as one who bears your name never let me bring dishonor to Your name. God's Kingdom Jesus says to Nicodemus, who would have considered himself to be living under the rule of God "Truly, truly, unless a man is born again you will not see the Kingdom of God." Jesus responded and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3 When we come to Jesus and enthrone Him as master of our lives, you are in the kingdom and the kingdom is in you. You’re so right Ferdinand. Really understanding and remembering and living out the Parable of the Good Samaritan and The Lord’s Prayer would transform this world. Good governments make a big difference but their money and good policies don’t change the heart and waste and corruption is ever present. Personal reformation is needed by the governors and the governed.

THE GOSPEL OF THE WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD (The Bible is also called the Old and New Testaments. Do you know what "testament" refers to? The "testament" in the Old Testament is from Jehovah's agreement with the people of Israel when He killed the Egyptians and deliver the Israelites from Pharaoh. Since they have already decided that the Bible is correct and without error, they study and analyze it with great interest.☀️ The present stage of work was not prophesied in the Bible. The WORK of CONQUERING the DARKEST PLACE is NEVER MENTIONED, because it is the NEWEST WORK. I don't believe that when you pray for someone, especially if they are ill or facing a great challenge, that you should delve into what 'temptations' they may face. We cannot presume to know what will tempt another person. If we ask for the Lord to give them strength, He will know how to strengthen the person we're praying for. He is all knowing. We are not God.

This is the SECOND level of DEFINITION of AGREEMENT. ☀️ With the exception of Genesis, which predates the establishment of the covenant, all other Old Testament books record God's work among the Israelites after the establishment of the covenant. Of course, there are occasional accounts of Gentiles, but in general, the Old Testament records God's work in Israel. Because of JEHOVAH'S AGREEMENT with the ISRAELITES, the BOOKS written in the AGE of the LAW are CALLED the OLD TESTAMENT. THESE are NAMED from JEHOVAH'S AGREEMENT with the ISRAELITES. 💐 The NEW COVENANT is NAMED from the SHEDDING of JESUS' BLOOD on the CROSS and His AGREEMENT with ALL WHO BELIEVE in Him. JESUS' AGREEMENT is THIS: PEOPLE ONLY NEED to BELIEVE in Him to HAVE THEIR SINS FORGIVED because of the SHEDDING of His BLOOD, and THEN THEY WILL BE SAVED, and BE BORN THROUGH HIM, and will NOT be SINNERS; PEOPLE just NEED to BELIEVE in Him to RECEIVE His GRACE, and NOT SUFFER in HELL AFTER THEY DIE. ☀️💐🙏 All the BOOKS WRITTEN in the AGE of GRACE CAME AFTER this AGREEMENT, and ALL of them STATE the WORK and SAYINGS CONTAINED in it. They do not exceed the salvation of the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus or the agreement; these are all books written by brothers in the Lord who had experiences. THEREFORE, THESE BOOKS ARE ALSO NAMED FROM an AGREEMENT: THEY ARE CALLED the NEW TESTAMENT. 🙏 These TWO COVENANTS only cover the AGE of LAW and the AGE of GRACE, and have NOTHING to DO WITH the LAST AGE. Therefore the BIBLE is of NO GREAT USE to PEOPLE TODAY in the LAST DAYS. ☀️ It can only be said that it serves as a temporary reference, but it's really not worth much to use. However, this is still the most careful--careful of religious people. They don't know the Bible; they only know how to explain the Bible, but are unaware of its origins. Their attitude towards the Bible is: Everything in the Bible is correct, it contains no inaccuracies or errors. Jesus was teaching the disciples how to pray, it’s not the Lord’s Prayer, it a template, a format . His will already done on the earth and the kingdom is already here on earth, it wouldn’t make sense to pray this way anyway

Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither slumber, nor sleep overtake Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills.
