Don’t really know what liberals think, but the leftist perspective seems to have been that we have only been reluctantly supporting biden as the lesser of 2 evils because there are only 2 realistic winning options. I only supported Biden because him winning means that a Republican won’t win (and regress protections for multiple minority groups that I am a part of). Now it’s blatantly obvious that he has lost the faith of the country and I really can’t see him winning, therefore there’s no reason for me to support him. Either way, I hated how he dealt with immigration and Isreal, this was the final nail in the coffin, I have no faith in him. I pray that he is not narcissistic enough to stay in the race, inevitably lose, and drag us all down with him. So no, many people were never loyal to him in the first place, voting for him is a means to a result and now it’s collectively obvious that he can’t produce that result.

Because some forms of bigotry are literally virtuous according to a frighteningly large amount of Democrats (not all). That conversion to bigotry being "good" has become so normalized in some parts of the country that many people don't even understand how bigoted they are. Republicans were once again ahead of their time, but because of normalized bigotry, it was OK to bully and disregard people who were bringing up facts. Those facts were suppressed for so long for so many people that it was a shock to many people who looked at the warnings through their bigoted lenses and didn't take them seriously.
