The thing that frustrates me about Draymond is that in some moments he's the most well spoken, emotionally intelligent basketball player ever, but in other situations, its like he actively decides on the worst possible choices. Like he's certainly capable of being the team's vocal leader throughout tough times and internal conflict, but instead just ends up creating these problems to begin with.

He is a terrible human in every capacity, he has about as much emotional control as a 4 year old and his temper tantrums not only hurt the team but actually goes to the point where he purposely hurts others players. He is a joke and we would have never knew his name if it weren't for steph curry and klay Thompson.

One thing you didn't point out about the 2022-2023 regular season is while Steph missed 26 games and Wiggins missed 40 games it was Poole and Klay who kept the team alive offensively and won more games then they lost. Without Steph. Poole played all 82, scored 1675 points, more than anyone on the team and 369 assist. 2nd only to Draymond Green. The Warriors wouldn't have won enough regular season games to make the playoffs that year had it not been for Poole. Draymond came out this summer and talked about why their road record was so bad.. He said he would come late to every road trip because he was ashamed to be around Poole! Draymond purposely did not create an environment for the team to heal! The 2022 2023 season was a struggle not just because of Poole but because you had a bench made up of Ty Jerome and Anthony Lamb who played far more than JK and Moody. Are they even in the league anymore? The Warriors enabled Draymond to behave the way he did the 2023 -2024 season because they did nothing to him after the Poole punch. I hope they do fail because they failed and tried to destroy a bright young player and made him the scapegoat for their own failures! Karma really is a bitch!

Wiseman’s development was shaky from jump he just didn’t fit to me even during the 2020-21 season. For me that 2021-22 title truly was lightning in a bottle as most of the teams they faced were horrible match ups. Denver, Grizzlies, Mavs, & Celtics couldn’t match up combined with Wigs & Poole playing out of their minds helped get that 2022 championships. It was over the moment they chose DG over KD.
@alasdairmacdonald98383 ай бұрын
While it's easy to point to all the antics with Donkey etc the truth is it really wasn't one punch etc that ended this run. In hindsight you have to look back and say that drafting Wiseman was a massive failure and one they held on to for far too long until his value was nothing at all. Klay's injuries played a huge part because the team was constructed with him as a 2nd option and the teams best perimeter defender and he was neither of those things anymore. Worse than that was that neither him nor the team seemed willing to admit it. The lack of consistent development for their young players also caught up with them. It doesn't mean Kerr is a terrible coach but the motion system he runs if complex and it's a lot to ask young players to come in and pick it up all while there is pressure on the team to contend for titles. Fundamentally the root of the problem though is that the system they run so successfully for years was copied at large around the league and they gradually lost many of the players that made it work so well. Sean Livingston, David West, Zaza, Bogut, Iggy etc. And to their detriment in the long run the team didn't really adapt if anything they have doubled down on small ball because it's really hard to find genuine bigs that fit it into well. The Boguts and Zazas of the league are actually pretty rare commodities and and if anything the league overall has gotten even quicker, more athletic and younger. I know they never will trade Steph but they really need to admit this thing has run it's course and start rebuilding, trading the youth for another star would be franchise suicide because no star that's maybe available is going to push them over the top. At the same time where they are is just bathed in mediocrity and likely they will be a play-in team at best again this season.

Wiggins had an awful year off the court last year so I get why he’d be much worse. With any luck, that was a one season bump and he can be back to form this season. The Warriors’ future contention depends on it. They also desperately need both Podz and Kuminga to have breakout seasons. The last thing I think is to trade Draymond. He isn’t worth much on his own in a trade but as a salary piece accompanying some draft picks and maybe Moody, they could get an impactful big to play centre. Steph, a breakout Podziemski, a renewed Wiggins, a breakout Kuminga, and a solid big could actually be a lot scarier than people think, even if it’ll take another year.

I thought that for the most part, the decisions the Warriors made that lead up to the 4 rings they won, were amazing. Trading Monta Ellis for Bogut, drafting and sticking with Curry despite early injury concerns, drafting Klay, swapping coaches for Steve Kerr and just completely changing the backroom, I mean it was poetry with how well managed they were. But the one mistake I thought they made, was picking Draymond over Durant. I think after that finals loss and the fallout between the two, it was complete lunacy to stick with Draymond over arguably the most lethal scorer of the decade. I'd wager if they put Draymond on the trading block in favor of Durant, they'd probably have won like 3-4 more rings.

Draymond was essential to the Warriors winning 4 chips. He was the right player, on the right team, playing in the right system. His behavior issues aside… Put him on any other team, he’s nowhere near a Hall of Famer. Obviously all his behavior issues contributed to the Warriors falling off a cliff. The Warriors organization also has to take blame because they drafted Wiseman and Kuminga. Both of them have the POTENTIAL to one day be great players, but they’re project players. They’re guys you draft when you’re in rebuilding mode. They should’ve either flipped those picks for established players, or drafted more NBA-ready guys. On a personal note, I can’t stand Draymond Green. The dirtiest, most unprofessional, childish player I’ve ever seen. I give him his due. He is ESSENTIAL to the Warriors being a winning squad. Which is frustrating because he knows that, and still chooses to act like an asshole and get himself ejected and suspended. His team needs him and he does childish shit that keeps him off the court and the team suffers because of it.

I just wanna say, the downfall of the Golden State started with Bob Myers leaving. Now I want everyone to realize that I'm not being a spoiled fan on a well founded organization franchise. I'm just mad at him for leaving, but I'm also grateful of him building the team to become a Dynasty. Now, the reason I hated him for leaving is that he claims he doesn't want to be the reason for separating such a strong bond with Steph, Dray, and Klay because he claims either of them needs to be traded at that point, because he also claims there's no other way. If we actually CAREFULLY SLOWLY think of it, there was actually a way, and that way is just to retool the team, and that is to add some key partial role players to the team, and that are shooting fast paced big men. But he didn't do that, instead he left, like coward because he doesn't want to destroy the relationship he had with the Warriors Big 3, and for that he just making excuses that there was no other way. It's a basketball business league, in business there's always a way, you can't say there's no other. That's why I'll never forgive him for leaving, but I am grateful of him creating a team and building around Steph to become a Dynasty team.
