This is absolutely what should happen and it should be given at least 12-15 consecutive games. Murray playing with the reserves allows him to get up more shots and be a #1 scoring option. You want the two best players taking the most shots but this team really needs Russ feeding Jokic inside constantly, to get him up near 36-38 pts per game. Let Murray get up a lot of shots in the 2nd unit to get his scoring around 24-28 pts per game. Gordon, MPJ, CB, Russ, and one other player can give the team 8-16 pts each.......that should put The Nuggets on pace to avg around 119-125 pts per game, which would put them on par with the best offenses(top 5) Then it's all about getting the defense around the 108-112 pts per game range. A net rating of around +10/+12 is elite and should make The Nuggets a top 4 team. If you are a top 4 team, your odds of winning a title are very good.

I don't think it was being stubborn, he was disgruntled with the people he played with. KD wasn't playing team ball, that's why Russ took over, all that is 💩 gets tired to real team ball player. Jokic is what Russ needed, someone who saw the game like he did, and now it works.

He is what Denver needs : a willing player to drive to the board. Only jokic and murray are more willing to drive. AG choose post up. MPJ tends to shoot. Denver: your team is +12.9 (per 48 minutes) when RW sits, -6.75 when he's on the floor. When RW plays without NJ, the Nuggests are an abysmal -23.9. When NJ plays without RW, the Nuggets are +16.3. to be honest with you, denver needs his demeanor, playing full 48 minutes mindset, I get your point but at the same time some of his contribution is not in stats. They play with young guys and they need that confidence and energy boost from someone and russ is that, plus he is 3mil, Nuggets fans are not in delusion but his contribution is above his salary right now and they are happy, they pay for a burger and burger is good that's it. And plus he is avg. 11 pts 4 reb 6 assist. And I watch every Nuggets game and they are organic stats. On the other hand Nuggets got Zeke who paid 8mil and avg 1 points, so from a Nuggets perspective Russ is boomin. Is his presence makes this team contender hell no, not alone, but his presence adds immense value, he is like buffed Bruce Brown and that's why we are happy.

When Russ was the starter to begin the 2023/2024 season, the starting five of: Zu, Covington, Kawhi, PG, and Russ was trending elite with a +38 net rating. Eerily similar to The Nuggets net rating with: Jokic, Gordon, MPJ, Braun, and Russ(+32) It's clear Russ is a starting pg but he's better if he's a #3 thru #6 scoring option rather than a #1 or #2..... That way he can focus more on defense, setting the pace, and facilitating.... If he gives you between 9-16 pts that's gravy.... He should be starting with Jokic, Gordon, MPJ, and Murray.....Braun would be better but the team is not using Murray off the bench and they shouldn't. To win a championship The Nuggets still need the Jokic/Murray two man game to close out games, especially postseason games. Christian Braun should return to a reserve role but his minutes should remain at 30+ per night. In the games Russ starts The Nuggets are 5-1 which is over 80% with only an inexplicable loss to The Wizards....😂 That means in all other games The Nuggets are 9-9 which is average. Even if we give The Nuggets two wins because Jokic didn't play, it would still be only 11-7, which is still just slightly above average, not elite. The Kings game was the first Jokic, Gordon, MPJ, Murray, and Russ start and that 1st qtr was eye-opening from an offensive perspective. The defense was just ok in my view as The Kings missed a lot of easy open looks but the way that five played together to start the game was elite(offensively) I think it would have stayed that way but both Jokic and Murray struggled to make shots in the 2nd and 3rd qtrs..... The Nuggets need to name Russ the starting pg.
