Totally true story I was at the game. My father and I had season tickets from 78 to 81. I was still in high school at the time. But I do believe if memory serves me right that was up the first base line where it flew into the crowd. We sat in section 15 in the loads which was halfway down the first baseline. The story is factual

My big brother and I were there too. It was my first football game. I believe they had doghouse Snoopy and Red Baron remote control planes and the Snoopy crashed on the field. I also remember that either in the third quarter or before the start of the third quarter seeing the ambulance exit out through the outfield wall section of Shea.

These are not real lawn mowers. These are remote control wood planes made to look like a lawn mower.

but the lawnmower had a propeller thats why he looked like he was bit with an ax

Clear case of overreaction. People hear flying lawnmower and expect the worse. It had no blade under it (which is why the story is blown way out of proportion). If it would have been any of the other flying crafts that were flown that day it wouldn't be such a big story. .....It had no blade so basically it was a plane that resembled a lawn mower. A lawnmower cuts grass. This flying contraption could not cut grass.
