I spotted so many hidden easter eggs in AMATEOTW that directly referenced The OA. Each episode has at least one. Even with the 5 seats around the campfire mirroring the 5 haptive cages, symbolism hidden in the background of a lot of shots, circles and triangles everywhere, even a kitchen darby goes into looks EXACTLY like Hap’s kitchen when OA is making a sandwich. There’s just too many to reference here but I would love a detailed analysis or a side to side comparison of all the hidden details and easter eggs. Even if this story isn’t a direct follow on, they are definitely letting their fans subtley in on how the OA story would have developed.

One really interesting thing I found that connects this was the scene were Darby enters her apartment after the book reading, she walks through a door labeled 2. In the OA episode SYZYGY, Karim leaves OA at the bar while he explores the back stairwell of the club. He checks Door #2 but turns back. But the most telling part is the background music in both scenes. It's the same exact song. So I think you're right about A Murder mirroring season 2.

So I just watched this video today and decided to go back and watch Part 2 of The OA. In the first episode there is a kid with pink hair who rants and raves about “solving the puzzle” (an echo of Darby solving the murder?) Also, just realised that Nina/Prairie’s boyfriend in this is Pierre Ruskin who is also a tech genius/billionaire!!!

I like the way some names in A MURDER sounds similar to OA seasons, theres a moment when Lee seeks for her son asking: WHERE´S ZOOMER? and sounds exactly the same as OA looking for Homer. Also in OA part II there´s a girl, pink hair named Darmi, nursing at the Clinic. Rohan name also reminds me of Rhoda whilliams from Another Earth, 2011 film by zal and brit, i like to feel all their filmography so cohesive and round

The meaning of the name Darby has reference to deer and so does the name Buck. Rhoda means rose so might have a connection to the rose window

this would also explain that random awkward moment when OA realizes Darmi the nurse and Homer might’ve been flirting/had a relationship and for a split second you think she might be jealous but theres so much going on it gets glossed over but we all know nothing is by accident in this show!!!!

This whole video is pretty intense. But I like it. You are making alot of connections, and I wonder if Brit or Zal know what you know- to leave these breadcrumbs? I will def check out your other video. My sense is these 2 shows aren't connected yet this season? Not overtly. Clearly we see some similar elements with the characters. Like Darbys short hair. And Andy is very similar looking to HAP. But I see much else other than that. Personally. But prehaps with another season Brit and Zal would maybe add further OA elements. I think the potential is there.They have alot of loyalty to fanbase like myself and you of course, and I think they really enjoy weaving things and elements into projects. They keep stoking this fire of re-buting the OA on their socials with very cryptic messages.The OA I think has a bigger cult following than any other of their projects they've done thus-far. As creators they are at the mercy of FX or people who pay for these projects to be made. I would love to be surprised. But at this point I just enjoy seeing whatever they make next. One of a kind filmakers/writers/ thinkers the two of them.

just watched "mateotw" (lol cant be bumed to write the title sorry) while watching it with a friend i believe i know the murder mystery spoolers just i case i'm right. bill killed himself for the sake of what's her face/hair colour? not been killed by who ever forced him to kill himself. bill knew the cults ultimate plan and so from the first case has been , guided her life, whilst also learning all about her own quirks. in doing so has left a bread crumb trail for her too follow leading to the cults activities' and plans for the world, by making her investigate his murder, by knowing how her mind works, this lets him, after death, leave a perfect trail for her to follow, she then uncovers the real reason those girls were also murdered. and ultimately get revenge on his and the other victims behalf. he might of had something to do with those child murders himself giving him a perfect motivation to end up killing himself, for which reason is left to the viewer to decided on. so seeing skinny nerd girl gave him some one else who saw a connection to the earing girls murders found a path of redemption for himself after death.

Bill also left Darby in that motel room as he realized she was too obsessed with her work to truly love him. He literally said to her something along the lines of “you will never love me until I’m dead”. At the moment Bill died, she did finally realize that she loved him and he then became her obsession. Could it be that Bill did indeed kill himself because he knew Darby would obsess over solving the mystery of his death - ultimately leading her to discover the truth of what is really happening at the retreat?

A Murder at the End of the World descended in to Left Wing, woke, agitprop. Found it unwatchable, although I suffered through it all, including the ridiculous ending. I was also critical of Brit's acting on the newer series, and also of the cute star of the show. Brit was platic throughout, not once did she take me on any of her many emotional journeys from the OA. The younger actress who plays Darby, was powerful in her flashback scenes, weak in the short blond hair, current timeline. Don't know if that was part of the director's desire, or something else. Perhaps my incredibly high valuation of the OA, was always going to let me down.

Bill’s character does remind me of Homer although he doesn’t physically look like him. In the OA, when Nina/Prairie is trying to convince Homer he knew and loved her in the other dimension he can’t remember. I see similarities with Bill and Darby’s relationship. He loves her but she doesn’t love him back. It hurts him so much he leaves and says to her at one point “you’ll only love me when I’m dead”. Could they have always loved each other but she can’t remember and he can’t cope with it so he leaves her and starts a new life as an artist, knowing that in time they’ll meet again? When they meet at the retreat he asks her to “come and get warm with me” and she refuses. He finally realizes he has to kill himself for her to love him. He was a hacker after all and he probably hacked into the Morphine cabinet for this purpose. I don’t know, my brain is all over the place with this 🫤.
