Just another quick point, the average fan has been priced out of properly supporting their club due to outrageous ticket prices and club strips being so expensive! No one should have to spend up to £100 for a football top!!

I definitely feel that the Premier League has affected a lot of the smaller leagues in Europe! Clubs like Rangers, Celtic, and other clubs in Europe used to be able to challenge Premier League clubs financially when signing players! And yes, the Premier League also caused the massive inflation in player prices, average players are being priced at ridiculous prices like £40 million just because they play for a Premier league club! It's mental that clubs like Brighton and Fulham can spend 20 to 30 million pounds for a player and they aren't even playing in European competitions!!

They should adopt the American model with a salary cap and a draft.

That would completely ruin the game

that would completely ruin it and turn it into a massive lucrative franchise rather than what it should be

@@GiveRangeKrakenBack Not exactly, NFL doesn't have any team dominating for multiple seasons in a row which is great. It's rare for one team to win two following years even. Getting top talent as a catch-up is a nice boost to struggling teams, though not sure how it would play with promotions and relegations. Also salary caps are obviously good, but every league would need to agree on them, otherwise top players would just go to Saudi or some such.

@@WrathOfPhropet The NFL/nba also has teams in it who have stunk consistently for decades with lazy and awful owners who get to stay at the top of the sport because the American model rewards being shit by giving you the top draft pick instead of punishing you by relegation. There are so many examples of this because the American model supports complacency

The MLS already has a draft it does not work in football at all. In America all players come through one path, college, and have no other option especially in the NFL. In football you have kids coming from every corner of the world there is no way to put all this talent into one pool to create an effective draft

capitalism is a wonderful thing, right.....

Under communism, you had party-favored teams (generally in the capital) and the disparity was just as bad. It's not capitalism.
