so we got a purge that we need to build purge bases away from main base (imagine 7 days to dye figure that shit out 10years ago) and a tavern that lags the shit out of your base, so, again requires tavern base or you will ragequit the server from FPS drops.. None of this issues got adressed. But i am glad NPCs are harder in a game where they cant jump and you can funnel them to kill zones.. idk ho dafuq lost 6 NPCs lvl 20 but if you are lvling up exiles then no wonder, I lost 1 berserker so far due to his DUMB AI getting it blocked agains a wall.. its hylariouslly bad.

Did a level 9 purge last night with a buddy. There were losses…6 level 20 heroic thralls with epic gear along with 4 crystal golems. They made it to the treasure vault but we were able to barely stop them from smashing everything. Quite the learning experience. A lot of crippling and slows then getting surrounded.

I built my palace on a coastline in map sector V12 in the exiled lands. Just have to make sure there is enough room nearby for a purge camp to spawn.

no archers because I would need too many of them to be effective. Same with the animals, they dont pack the same punch and I didnt want dozens of them sitting around to break the immersion. Didn't think about sorcery so I'll give that a try.

The battle is fun but what you get is not worth the effort. The materials, the gear and the thralls you get can all be obtained with much less effort by other means and sometimes more fun and less costly than doing a purge

I started a new base on Siptah with purges in mind. As soon I was 20 I did a lvl 1 purge just for fun. First few waves were naked npcs with weapons. It was hilarious.

I did my first ever Purge about an hour ago, with thanks to your videos, the new approach to the purge was confusing to this old gamer, but I got the Purge Challenge, and man they pushed me (Solo Game) I am taking to the Pyramid Outpost method you showed, though I do not have the Egyptian build capability I am still using the concept with the Black Ice Set, rather glad I hoard resources it has come in handy to defend against the Purge, this organized attack is fun. I need more traps though, I want to really explore how much fun this can be.

I completed level 7 purge. 6 guards at the 1st gate. 2 more at the 2nd gate. 1 archer in tower. + myself and 2 follower thralls. They usually get 1st gate down. And usually there is always 1 or 2 thralls that have lost 70% of their hp. But only because there is bug that some thralls dont understand use thrall pot. Also i feel purge is harder the closer their camp spawns. So two level 7 purges can feel totally different depending how close camp spawned.

honestly building smart is better than building higher tier materials, started on my 2nd pve server and purge farming is how im getting everything, its almost like tower defense at this point lol

a good trick is to use inside inverted door frame instead of walls, so to maximise the number of thralls in the base, x2 per door,, (protecting area order to thralls)

My base needed to be on a large flat surface for the purge to spawn correctly. They spawn on the side that has the shortest path to the treasure. 2-4 Doors seems to be good for a level 6 purge.

Old real estate saying, location, location, location,! IRL, castles were built to take advantage of the terrain. There were exceptions, but these were places that had tactical significance, which was more of a priority than maximizing the defensive capabilities. Proper location selection can force the attackers into a killing zone, which allows the defense to concentrate their resources. The problem in CE is that this may cause the purge to abort, but doing some redesign may get you past this issue.

I could only do a purge by openin all my gates and doors to the treasure room. Otherwise the ai couldnt find a path and cancelled

Also realistic - commanders would not storm castles that seemed too costly. Rather lay siege if they had the time, or use some other plan. My favorite is still the Krak des Chevaliers, which was never taken by force. So the besieging Muslims forged a letter from the Grand Master saying "Good job holding that spot boys, but you can leave now." - And they did. :)

We built on the ramps at Devils Squat and it forces the purge to rush one front and our one main gate so we have a kill chamber at the main gate with thrall tossing fire orbs and all fighters waiting behind the gate for if they manage to defeat us players and followers outside defending the gate

no gates (or gates opened), closed doors only, no obstacles front or back the doors (palisaders, thralls), space around your treasure chest.

I figured out that some items you can create can be used as treasure, like the kingscourge statue, those decorative metal skulls, and other decor that uses corrupted stone as a base material for creating.They can be placed inside your coffer and count toward the value.

i used wood spikes, two abreast, like a gauntlet, where the thralls run a channel race, down thru the spikes, towards the coffer. cuts down their numbers a bit more

I dissociated into my chair yesterday settinv myself into creative mode in a singleplayer world, building a little tower fortress thingy, spawing a bunch of very powerful berserkers as thralls, kitting them up with some armor, building a legion of guardians and setting them up into formations while I was repeating wh40k bullshit to them try to run them through as many waves of purge as I could Idk, seeing those large battles go on has been absolutely pleasing my smooth brain

I found having a burner coffer away from my main coffer is the way to go. This way they only ever target the smaller coffer. Work smarter not harder

While I'm glad you can avoid Purges if you want, I miss how the old Purges could come from almost anyone. Your attackers could be Dafari tribesmen, pirates, or Nordheimers. I've seen videos of Imps or even just animals doing Purges. Also, as annoying as having to suddenly defend your home at arbitrary times was, there was a thrill to knowing a purge was coming and you only had a limited time to prepare for it.

Tried three lvl 5 purges and they had no issue breaking down my 3-4 gates, but they gave up every single time. Not sure why because they had no issue cutting down my 20+ thralls

On Siptah, I have 2 bases and neither can achieve a purge the one main base I do not have enough land available, on the second there is plenty of land and still no purge so I removed all the door frames and doors, and still no purge.

How long does the "scouting" phase usually last? I proclaimed a few minutes before launching this video and it still says "scouting". So it doesn't say it failed to setup, but its been saying "scouting" for at least 15min. Does that mean its bugged? Or is there always a bit of a wait, like the old purges?

We have several bases with flat fields beside them that won't spawn purges. We are unsure why and notice this is kind of common. Do we have any information on what makes an ideal build location for a purge base? Like what does the game look for when determining whether it can spawn in a purge or not. Its frustrating to build what looks like it should be an ideal purge base with plenty of open space and the purges just refuse to spawn there.

Do you know if you place the coffer on a mountain if they will climb the mountain? I was thinking if you place it at a high spot there would be no way for them to get there.

If there is no pathway for the attackers to walk to your coffer the purge just won't happen.

It could be that a viable path is determined in a roundabout way by checking whether they leave their spawn location.

Question for anyone that knows. I have around 100 thralls in total on the map and 12 at my purge base, when the purge scales for difficulty does it scale to your total amount of thralls(100) or the thralls at your purge base(12). If anyone knows I would be grateful

I am playing on a PvE official server and only have defeated two level 1 purges so far. I am struggling a lot with placing my thralls correctly in near vicinity to each other, so I don't have to build such a big base. I am using the pillar and platform trick, however once they are placed and the base arround is ready, replacing losses is nearly impossible. Is there another way to overcome this distance check?

Bit late on a reply but what I do to make my thralls stand guard side by side is, place on then then make it follow and tell it to move out of the way then stop it, goto 2nd thrall and make it stand guard next to where you placed the first one, and repeat as many times as you need, after x amount of time they will return to there last placed spot, regardless if they are shoulder to shoulder with another thrall

I believe it depends entirely on whether friendly fire is turned on for the server. The server we are on has friendly fire turned way down and it has no effect on any of us.

Just did a level 5 purge and bottlenecked them in through a bridge. Victory but lost half a dozen Berserkers, and the thralls I won were absolutely not worth it

Another players can place a treasure room near another players base and then they span a purge.The purge thralls destroying offline player base and thralls. Dam i lost couple thralls yesterday

I've defeated level 8 purge. it was going well until I was kicked from my server because of a glitch with my router (has been fixed since then). I lost 7 thralls, most of which were lvl 20 Cim Berserkers in god breaker armor with bulk padding. There were victory drinks served in the mess hall of the keep, no treasure was stolen that day...but at what cost?

5:32 The purge isn't greedy. They will take much less than 10% and decide it's enough, e.g. 60 bars of silver. They could easily take more but don't. Weird.

It should start immediately or give you a reason why it could not start. The pop up is rather quick. You can also watch the status in the accountant screen where you proclaim wealth.

I defend with Golems and Zombies out front and let them take the biggest attrition since they are throw away defenders. If they can get all the way to my treasure room then they will face my thralls.

Past lvl 6 purge the loot is most of the times the same, for thralls is good if you get old purge fighter thralls but you can't get crafting thralls anymore

or maybe just wait to kill them while they walks with the treasures,, for the moment the purge does not work if the camp is not at the same topographic terrestrial level as the treasure,, the problem, it is not a well adapted map,, perhaps a camp higher than wide could work better

On PS4 the Purge is unplayable. Thralls don‘t fight and the console cannot follow the movements of NPC‘s. Fps drops are terrible.

The current purge is so borked. I've tried to get a purge in single player and on an official server with plenty of room for the purge base camp. It won't spawn. I even tried cutting down trees and breaking up rocks to be sure there was nothing blocking the purge. Still no purge. This random purge base spawn is a joke. On servers that are heavily populated and where people have built bases in crazy places all of a sudden Funcom sets up this purge system. This isn't the Age of War, it's the Age of Broke.

Purge doesnt work on console. The minute it starts enemies are invisible, teleporting and such. Its broken and unplayable
