I use to book trips to Disney that were often in the $30,000 range. That was without flights and was 12 yrs ago. Some people drop money like it's no big deal. It was a fun job though; I loved talking with kids of parents who wanted the children to be a part of the booking. Making the itinerary with them was almost a fantasy for me in how I'd love to visit Disney.

@@MichaelRei99 that’s an ignorant assumption. We just spent about that for a week in Disney. Stayed in a park view suite at the four seasons and had private transportation the whole time so it added up. We are incredibly grateful and feel blessed to give our children this life experience. They are far from “entitled”. They see how hard their father works every day and they know at a young age that NOTHING is given to us for free. We work for what we have. You wouldn’t look at a family taking a “cheap” trip to Disney and say “bet they are lazy”. The double standards sicken me.
@demo2823

@@alexaboro4276 The opposite of entitled isn't lazy tho. I'm sure they meant entitled in the sense that the kids don't really understand how much better they have it so they will constantly make little ignorant mistakes. I had rich classmates who didn't understand why we didn't go on holiday every year. They thought that if we couldn't afford Europe we just went somewhere cheaper. They didn't get that being middle class or poor doesn't mean you get the same amount of stuff but less expensive- a lot of the time it means you get nothing. Your kid got an expensive hotel room with a great theme, and lots of activities around the hotel, and never even knew that there are places like Allstars which are cramped and far from everything. Your kid got to eat at restaurants and get the best wuick service snacks- someone else is esting sachet soup their parents brought with them. Your kid got souvenirs, toys they will have for years- some leave Disney with nothing besides memories and photos taken on their phone. Your kid got Genie+ and hardly had to wait in line- somebody else got 3 rides in a day and stood in a line most of the time. Your kid goes to Disney anually but a kid whose parents work in the Good Neighbor hotels has never been. Your kid may know the trip cost a lot of money, but that doesn't mean they conceptualize what that money got them that other people didn't get.

107K for world tour isn't that bad at all. Granted taking that much time off and money at once but comparing ala cart would be 400K plus

Thing is, peeps with that much money never think about the expense. I work for people who were extremely old money well off. Going to Dinsey or Japan for two weeks took the same amount of energy I would use deciding between Doritos or cabbage. Good ol' Bobby loves visitors who just open their wallets and don't agonize over every little nickle.
@LondonFogBritish
@LondonFogBritish 2 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. Usually people with money like that do not even think about Disney, which should be a crime. lol. Actually 100k for the Jet Tour is not that expensive in all it includes. Expensive for me, but not for people who have probably millions. Also what many people do not know, when you have money, your making money every day through stocks/properties. Wealthy people always buy stocks and properties. Sometimes their incomes per week are 100k. I knew a lady like that, unbelievable how much money per day even she collected.

So many negative comments about pricing recently… most people can’t afford it on a regular basis, or at all, and that’s pretty clear now. Try to embrace the video for what it is! AJ can’t do anything about pricing, and she’s just reporting on the info. Try to appreciate the team’s work reporting on the parks and realize that this is just for info and entertainment. I can’t afford it either now, but watching these videos helps cure the longing for the parks!

From the looks of market today, even the most hated Bob Chapek seems to have got some things right. Disney+ streaming added more subscribers than anticipated, demand at US parks (CA, FL) are continuing to blow past expectations. People want the bespoke experience and it looks like people can afford it, after all. This, from Disney’s CFO: "As it relates to demand, we have not yet seen demand abate at all and we still have many days when people cannot get reservations," Christine McCarthy, Disney's chief financial officer, said during the company's earnings call. "So, we're still seeing demand in excess of the reservations that we are making available for our guests." It’s a good day!

@@howtubeable Nope. You're masking the cost of services and finding an excuse to not pay employees appropriately by playing it off that they would make more than their deserved salary if they worked hard enough. Which is not how it ends up working in reality because gratuity is almost always dependent on the customer not the server.
