When I first heard about this story, I was 15, now I'm 58. I loved BR as a kid, but wasn't allowed to eat a lot of ice cream, it wasn't part of a regular diet, like we could have it for birthdays, maybe once in awhile on weekends. I no longer eat cow ice cream. Once in a blue moon. I appreciate the courage it took to walk away and start a new revolution. Thanks for being conscious beings and sharing your knowledge.

Can wait to watch this summit! So cool to learn about Ocean & his family background, as well. Thanks for helping us become aware of what we need to be aware of in the foods we eat and GMOs.

I worked at Baskin-Robbins starting in 1959 until 1964 I had ice cream everyday. The company had 131 flavors and Mandarin Chocolate Sherbet was my favorit. I am now 75 and in good health, health is in the gens. How long do you have is mostly in your parents and what you eat before your 18 yrs old. The key is moderation and exercise.

Richard Windsor not necessarily. Genetics loads the gun, lifestyle pulls the trigger as the saying goes. You may have had a pretty healthy lifestyle in general and probably are not a smoker. There are always exceptions but generally we are what we eat.

Genes add potential vulnerabilities, nothing worse than this.. my father has lived twenty years longer than either of his parents or their siblings. His diet is still poor, in reality. My mom has diabetes and they’re both in their 80’s. My maternal grandmother just died this May @ 101, but my mom won’t live that long. The food revolution under discussion is needed, since industrial food production has brought morbidities equal to those of most natural diseases, type II diabetes being a leading example. Medicine is illogically detached from the food industry.. science should have them operating in synergies with health and the environment. This is how the future must look. Your genes are actually affected by the environment, the new field of epigenetics is the mechanism of adaptive or maladaptive processes, along with the landscape of endo-bacteria.. where the lines of who ‘you’ are gets blurred.

I recently watched a video by John Robbins; so, obviously I didn't connect Ocean Robbins with his dad or the Baskin-Robbins brand until now. Great story! He (they) should tell the story more often. Unfortunately, you can't take away the ice cream addiction from people in the US. I live in North Carolina. Recently I had cancer surgery at a major hospital and I'd say 40% of the nurses and staff were morbidly obese! I can't even talk about the patient diet at the hospital... (I have to avoid stress. :o/) I was a Vegetarian before my surgery, but I changed to a totally anti-cancer lifestyle/diet when I was diagnosed in Jan 2017 - on my own - and it was the best decision of my life.

Baskin Robbins has the BEST rocky road ice cream. I love the rich chocolate flavor and chewy marshmallows. That aside, I maybe get a cup of it once every 2-3 years. LOL. Fancy ice cream is way over my budget anyway.

Genesis 1:29 Common English Bible (CEB) 29 Then God said, “I now give to you all the plants on the earth that yield seeds and all the trees whose fruit produces its seeds within it. These will be your food. Ezekiel 47:12 Common English Bible (CEB) 12 but on both banks of the river will grow up all kinds of fruit-bearing trees. Their leaves won’t wither, and their fruitfulness won’t wane. They will produce fruit in every month, because their water comes from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for eating, their leaves for healing.” 2 Kings 20:7 Common English Bible (CEB) 7 Then Isaiah said, “Prepare a bandage made of figs.” They did so and put it on the swelling, at which point Hezekiah started getting better. Revelation 22:2 Common English Bible (CEB) 2 through the middle of the city’s main street. On each side of the river is the tree of life, which produces twelve crops of fruit, bearing its fruit each month. The tree’s leaves are for the healing of the nations.

I just discovered you on a telegram channel. You commented on turmeric, and they need to consume fat with it for it to be bioavailable. Can that fat be whole milk? 🥛 ❤❤

How on earth do we find non GM foods and healthy veg that has been grown without the use of pesticides??? I ask as I am in my 50's and have young children and it's never too late to get healthy. P.S I live in Scotland. xxx
@laurab9867
@laurab9867 7 жыл бұрын
Actually, you have more chances of consuming veggies with no GMO / pesticide than we do in the USA. If I'm not mistaken, many European countries don't have the problem we have because they've been studying it from the beginning. Agricultural regulations are certainly different.

The standard American diet is already plant based - mostly grains. This Ocean guy doesn't look too healthy tbh. Stop demonizing animal foods when the problem is modern industrial 'food': too much and mostly refined carbs, industrial seed oils, and little quality animal foods - the little that is consumed is usually processed and/or cooked to death. Pasteurized dairy is completely different from raw dairy which is very healthy but sadly being vilified. Traditional diets are rich in animal foods (often including them raw) , none of them were vegan/vegetarian. Weston Price among others reported on this.
