I think Cadence and Shining Armor are good parents in their own right, because everyone parents their children differently. i mean after all nopony gives you a rule book on how to be a parent or raise a child it may be difficult but that's what makes learning about how to be a parent so interesting. And it is true that as the princess of love Cadence both gives and receives love because that's how love works it's both given and earned, i mean it's like Pinkie Pie says in the Smile song you give a smile and you'll get a smile. my point is whether Cadence gives love or receives love either way she still spreads love wherever she goes. As for Cadence and Shining Armor's love story, it's the best love story ever to exist in the mlp franchise! those two give new meaning to the phrase "Love conquers all." In conclusion, i often theorized that the reason why Flurry Heart was born an Alicorn is because of family genetics in other words Flurry Heart got her horn because her father is a unicorn, and she got her wings from her mother who used to be a pegasus before she became an Alicorn. so yeah Flurry Heart being an Alicorn is basically a genetic mutation.

That would mean that couples of alicorns and unicorns always should be able to produce alicorns, which doesnt really make sense since its the first time that phenomenon occured, but I agree with the rest, everyone has their own style of parenting, but imo, Cadance and Shining Armor show an example of good parenting, for the most part

@@doc_anubis I find it so annoying when people claim that flurryheart ruins the natural born alicorn theory when it's only Celestia and Luna's lines that ruins the theory. If nothing else was changed except for those two lines then flurryheart would be flat out proof of the theory.

I wouldn't even say it ruins it, I said it in the video, only in Equestria, that means other alcorns could have been born outside of Equestria, like Luna and Celestia

There's a reason why Big Mac and Shining Armor are the two most popular males in MLP. One that they are two of the few prominent ones that are portrayed with just as much compassion, which was a notable complaint in the early seasons, before more male characters began to follow suit. Two is their relatability and likeability, both in appearances and actions. I'll always prefer Big Mac for all of the time we get from him, and the addition of his character arc both in showing just how much he loves supports his family members to the point where he's willing to risk embarrassment to spend time with them (see the wholesomeness of Brotherhooves Social as the prime example), and the arc of him finally getting to experience and develop a romantic relationship without it being forced upon him. (This being how he fell in love with Sugar Belle and all he went through to form and maintain that relationship, through all of the conflict of their arc together. From trying to confess his feelings and dealing with that Justin Bieber love rival, to learning not to overreact and mend his relationship with Belle after a drastic misunderstanding, and finally bringing the two of them together in marriage, just as Shining and Cadence and Cranky and Matilda did before them. Contrast this with how the CMC paired him with Cherilee and how Pinkie paired him up with Marble, both of which were huge mistakes. In Cherilee's case, the love potion drove them lovesick for one another, to the point where they'd cause destruction under its influence. In Marble's case, them being paired up made her love him, only for her to find out the hard way that he didn't share those feelings with her.) As for Shining, we get to see his exploration of his relationship with Twilight as her older brother, and how he still holds it dear even as an adult away from her, and how he is as a parent and a husband to Cadence, going through similar motions in their relationship...except unlike Big Mac, we didn't see enough of this in the show itself. It's why I prefer Big Mac in every way, but Shining is still absolutely valid.
