How The Sandman almost became a McMahon!

The Sandman was a hardcore ECW legend who strangely joined WWE in 2006 and managed to hold down a job for a while despite his slightly dogey past and reputation. He wasn’t fired for a while which makes me smile. The main part was The Sandman almost made it to becoming Vince McMahons son through a botched segment where he refused to leave the ring.

Honestly, I always thought if they couldn't have Mr. Kennedy, as the illegitimate son as they planned they should've just waited out his suspension and started the storyline then. Now that someone has pointed at sandman as a replacement, I think it should've been him from the get-go. That would've been great with Mr. McMahon pissed that this hardcore ECW original is his son, while Sandman doesn't care at all. Hell, you could even have it end the same way the hornswoggle one did with a no DQ match at Wrestlemania. Maybe this way, they would've kept the original plan of Vince vs. Sandman in the WM match and skipped JBL needlessly getting involved in the feud.

The funniest part of Sandman refusing to leave the ring is that he technically qualified for each "elimination." He was 'not extreme' as he was on Raw and not WWECW at the time, is Caucasian, a (former) world champ, blonde, really he lasted up until the Hornswoggle reveal which only eliminated him as he didn't play with marbles or jacks.
