@@ACinemafanatic agreed. Producers and writers of shows are so eager to make their mark on something they didn't birth. They want to watch it back and be able to tell people. "See that difference? I did that". Sadly the film industry as it is when you get to mainstream stuff that everyone is going to hear about because of advertising is basically all run by Nepo babies and people who got their position through money and not renown. So pretty much none of them have any creativity worth paying attention to. I've read short stories from my middle school students that are better than most shows and even some really hearty books recently. But these kids will probably never even see a movie set or know what it's like to write for something big that hundreds of thousands of people will see. But then every now and then if they keep writing they get plucked at by a big company trying to make a mark like Martin and GOT. He has said the whole thing in Hollywood and dealing with producers in his ear and on his back has completely changed him and ruined his creative writing flow. Super sad.

It is a shame, because he is so loyal to her and holds her in such high regard and He saved her life at least once that I can remember. Not a great choice by the writers of the show I agree a great example is the way that he sticks up for when Bronn speaks of her with disrespect. She's very motherly to Pod in the books or maybe big sister like. She buys him treats like oranges, teaches him to fight and protects him. It's very sweet. Even more so that they're both still very young Pod being 12 and Brienne 20.

Dropping Lady Stoneheart was one of the most baffling decision D&D did. This scene would have been AMAZING with Gwendoline's performance.
@Jacob-lv6zy
@Jacob-lv6zy 9 ай бұрын
I think i know why they did it, but I might be wrong. Lady stonehearts story in the books will be very important for the conclusion of jaimes, brienne and eventually cerseis story. What I think will happen in the book is that Jaime will be captured(again) by the brotherhood and will have to choose between Briennes life or cerseis life by stoneheart. Jaime will save Brienne, but might agree that Cersei has to go, which plays a part into the resolution of the Lannisters story arc. However, by the time the show reached the 4-5th season, the books were not completed and the writers did not have that source material to go with, even if GRRM had given hints, so they decided to change Jaimes story for the ”benefit” to the shows plot. The show was in that weird point in time where it was still possible that GRRM could still maybe finish Winds of winter before the story went too far and new book material might still be inserted in the show. I still believe that while DnD had the ending explained, they did not have all details. While dropping stoneheart was bad, at that time i kind of understood why. It was not the change that doomed the story, but it was the first of many bricks to fall.
@johns1625
@johns1625 9 ай бұрын
@@Jacob-lv6zy That may be, but I think Stoneheart is not really interested in the realm of being that reasonable. She knows Brienne probably isn't lying, but still decides Jamie is guilty and she's lying, and Catelyn wasn't exactly known for her ability to see reason in matters like this. I think she's going to force Brienne to fight Jamie since they both took the same oath to save her children and failed, and Jamie is going to let Brienne kill him.

Personally, I like Beric more than Lady stoneheart, so it’s a shame he gave his life for hers. I like the idea that some god revived a just okay knight, and he’s wondering why him, what will he do that’s so important. It’s like Dunk’s foot, if you’ve read the books.

I think the show dynamic between them was interesting in its own way. Brienne’s spent most of her life being mistreated/denigrated by the people around her, even though she lives up to Westerosi ideals of chivalry, knighthood and martial prowess better than most could hope for. She’s harsh to Podrick, sure, but she never does it out of maliciousness, and she does come to respect him as time goes on

Didn’t give away the ending of the novels. Was the greatest TV show ever.(Ending?) Caused even more shows to be made. Made a lot of KZbinrs popular. I don't know how you interpreted the show as mistreating Pod, as far as I could tell she cared for him almost like a son, but still had the duty of teaching him as a squire. There was a nature there of authority there, but that is to be expected. It's not a monumental change from the text at all. Granted they certainly didn't get into the details or personal adventures as much, but it was a TV show with an hour per show format.
