Having Nassim Taleb in Armenia is really outstanding. He is really a very disruptive thinker, a genuine person with a real skin in the game. Chapeau Monsieur Taleb.

Wow, i had read the Black Swan so many years ago and have great respect for Mr. Taleb. To see him interviewed by our Mr. Hacopian says volumes about the great job the folks at Covilnet are doing.

My summary of SIX RAP TOPICS between Nassim Taleb and Eric Hacopian: 1. antifragile national resilience, comparing nearby "stable" dynastic, authoritarian states to antifragile Armenia; antifragile is a Taleb concept meaning that things that get pressured or bashed a lot are less fragile, 2. why Large Language Models can be useless if caught (as they often are) in self-feeding information loops reguritating what is popularly appearing on the web, 3. why the West has significant identity wars, 4. lifestyle advantages of Lebanon and Armenia compared to the West, 5. following on from 4, the societal mental health benefits of people being embedded in a community, and 6. the split in the West between the elites and the masses on a range of topics, and between the young (under 30) and older (over 60) demographic, for example in their respective views on that lobby and its celebration of slaughter in Gaza.

I had no idea he was associated with the RAND Corporation. I was reading a book recently about nuclear policy by Daniel Ellsberg (The Doomsday Machine). I wonder if Taleb has been involved in that.

i do think that Armenians in Armenia do have somewhat of a cultural/identity crisis. one with the attachment and disassociation with Russia and Russian culture. many people, even younger people, think, act and see themselves as more Russian than Armenian, unfortunately. hopefully this will change.

funny how the host uses the world "ROBUST" in his first question... surely taleb was pissed about this word choice... as he writes in his book ANTIFRAGILITY thats exactly the questions reporters ask him... ROBUSTNESS is smth that is indifferent to shock. the whole point of ANTIFRAGILITY is that ..and its even the subtitle of the book "things that gain from disorder." the concept of robustness is about things that are largely indifferent to disorder... while FRAGILITY is about things that get harmed by disorder. i advice the listeners not to connect taleb´s work with ROBUSTNESS ^^. p.s.: i might be wrong and the interviewer literally meant ROBUSTNESS. also the interviewer seemed very educated so i dont want to make fun of him at all.

the small Nations are struggling on energy issues because they cannot buy anything essentials mostly fuels in international markets because of dollars as exchange medium that is first hurdle they are facing a pressing issue for such a long time and only factor of those breaking down eventually in disorder and previous leaders funneling as much as foreign exchange and fleeing because they cannot change the situation.

The notion of " unequivocal US support for Israel" is beyond naive. Nassim makes a beginner mistake by confusing the US administration retoric with the overall real politic strategy toward Israel. The latter has little to do with a genuine support
