WHOA WHOA WHOA NOW HOLD UP THIS VID AINT OVER YET, by using ice and gel you can make slime ice and make that into platforms, by running on this platform you will never lose momentum meaning if you make a long platform you can focus on shooting the enemy or using whatever damage method you have by only having to Kickstart the fight with running up to full speed, I fond this works spectacularly for worm bosses as you can simply use a dash, hold youre momentum and shoot at is as you glide down the platform, it makes dodging soo easy.

That was actually a bug only the console version of Terraria had. ... then again, console Terraria had always been the most buggy mess imaginable. Example: In console 1.3 there was a bug that made you able to craft another Platinum/Gold/Sliver coin after getting it converted by quickstacking so everytime you got a plat coin, you were able to craft another one with only 0-99 coins, effectively getting 2 coins at the price of one 1. And let's not forget the "Vortex Beater Glitch".

i actually realised this on my first ever terraria playthrough and also put it to good use. i found it out when i saw a youtuber build a miniature slime farm using a box, lava, slime statues and wiring to get a slime staff. i thought it was a really good item, and because you dont have to do anything except waiting to get it, it was a no brainer for me and when i got it, i was happy because i got it and dissapointed that it was bad. but most importantly, i had about 2 chests full of gel. idk how but somehow i tought myself how to turn it into platforms. for me it was standard practice so i found it pretty weird that i never saw anyone else ever do this until now. (sorry if you wasted your whole afternoon reading this)

Stone platforms are the best platforms, In my opinion. It takes not so much to get a lot of stone, which does not run out like slimes. And in hardmode, it becomes even easier to gather it.

I have to ask, what's your logic here? That I know of, there is a limited amount of stone blocks in a world. Meanwhile, slimes or Gel dropping enemies can be found just about any and everywhere in a world at all times. How do slimes "run out", while the limited block doesn't?

@@Darus_the_Dragon 1. There was "In my opinion" 2. In hardmode, if you want to build a gigantic arena, it is certainly faster to get 100 stone then 100 gel. Just because you can't manipulate the spawnrate strong enough to spawn so many slime in 30 seconds or so. But mining stone is faster with drills and pickaxes. 3. I mean yeah, the stone in the world is limited, but you will never encounter the problem of running out of stone, just like gel.

@HaxWorl The big idea is that you don't go out of your way to get Gel, you collect it completely passively without thinking about it until you can use it at a point where you need platforms but obviously you missed the point. The only times you could run out of Gel to a point where just getting different platforms is faster is if you would be building a mega sized, 1000 block long, multi-layered Arena which really just doesn't happen in Vanilla Terraria. Also who even uses the Flamethrower and/or the Elf Melter?

For skybridges, I always made slime blocks and then combine them with ice. Frozen slime blocks are easily plentiful, and you can use a grappling hook or anything to preserve your momentum. Once you gain speed, you don’t have to touch your game to get to the end, granted no enemies. Also, they can be painted pretty colours, so that’s a great plus,

Ended up discovering slime platforms on my....borderline insane mining trip in which i dug out two entire granite biomes. Why? Because i like the smooth granite, and the furniture. If you don't have wood to make platforms, you can use stone and make it gray brick then turn it into platform. It's very easy all you have to do is to have stone which is very basic block that you will be obtained along your journey and a furnace.

Take as long as stone to mine and create more platforms for the same amount. if you use any luminite drill, you can mine 30 ice per second, which you can make 60 platforms out of. 60 platforms per second is insanely good, and you will probably get a hell of a lot just from doing anything in the underground ice biome.

Yeah but it still takes effort to kill slimes early on, especially on harder difficulties where purple slimes are dangerous. Wood is safe to get and planting acorns is no different from takin time to kill slimes. Plus it takes effort to get golden crowns and wait for slime rains. By the time you have enough slime you already have the resources to make platforms with other resources. Finally, you can revert wood platforms back into wood unlike with slime platforms which stay as slime blocks.

@@meepmood6981 fair, but you need to place a solid block in the arena to place these lanterns, which you may bump into during a boss fight, it's a common issue with using heart lanterns in tall arenas (and no, you can't actuate the block, the lanterns just drop). but unlike for the star in a bottle, the extra health regen is worth it, unlike the mana regen, especially with the need of making the solid block 2x1 wider, giving it more chances for you to crash into and cost you a boss attempt.
