​@@johnbiebe4092lol. It's actually a pretty good joke. The crackshaft of an engine goes round and round. And the power of an engine is expressed in Horsepower. So, if you use a car, you still make horses walk in circles.

Happy Tuesday Rick ! My Granddaddy taught us about James Watt and horsepower when we were kids. When anyone was working on tractor or car engines and one of the horses came over and stuck their big heads near the engines we would joke and say the horse was just checking the horsepower! 😂 Good Memories! James Watt is also the father of the "watt" which we commonly use as a measure of electrical power. 1 hp is also equivalent to 746 watts. With a bit of math you can take the electrical power consumed by an electric motor and come up with the hp rating for the motor.

We suppose then our Thoroughbred sire is > than 1 hp! He has freed up our 1,950# trailer mired in 6" of mud when our trucks could not! In reverse we asked him to pull trailer free. He did so effortlessly! All our trucks would do was spin all 4 wheels in 4X4! Even our tractor could not free the trailer out of the mud. Count did it with no difficulty at all! it did not take him > minute or 2! Amazed us as we rode him too. Our 130# clearly means nothing to his great strength & power. Enjoy 99% of your videos Rick! Take good care of yourself. Its clear you you have a great love of our country. The future president, Trump, is exactly the kind of person I want to run our country when after having his shocking incident he still has the gumption to say Fight, Fight.

Yeah, but I still think 200 horses hitch together could pull way, way more than a car ever could! Watt forgot to include the fact of synergy into his calculations. Neat video btw.

I looked it up and the 1 hp rule only works if you look at what that machine could do during a full workday compared to a horse. Short-term the output was about the same. The average horse has about 15 hp.
