I am disappointed to see that situations like this seem to happen frequently when that "old guy" in the House. He doesn't care :( and he is scared. However....Sudan has been the subject of multiple Level 4 Travel Advisories from the Department of State, highlighting the high level of danger in the region. It is crucial to use COMMON SENSE when traveling and to avoid these high-risk areas to ensure your safety. Unfortunately, even with the best education in the world you've, common sense is not always present, sadly, and it is important to take precautions to protect yourself, especially as a US citizen who may be a target for kidnapping. Please stay safe.
@Lostshmi Жыл бұрын
I think you missed the point of the video. Like I said, I did not intend to use evacuation services-I made a conscious choice to travel to an unstable region and I think it’s my responsibility to get myself out. And no, I’m not lacking in common sense. I understand the risks. I also understand why you might feel like it’s stupid of me to travel to these kinds of places but for me, the risk is worth the reward of being able to explore and understand the world. And I’ve always appreciated the work of war reporters and journalists so this was a rather interesting experience for me. This video is simply an objective criticism of the US embassy’s terrible response-I didn’t expect them to save my ass but I did expect better communication…where are all my tax dollars going?! 😂 Anyway, hope this all makes sense-thanks for tuning in 🙏💙

@@Lostshmi Thank you for sharing your perspective on the situation. It's understandable that you have a passion for exploring and understanding the world, even if it means venturing into high-risk areas. However, it's also important to acknowledge the potential dangers and take necessary precautions to ensure your safety. It's unfortunate to hear that the US embassy's response wasn't up to your expectations, and it's important for the government to use tax dollars effectively to provide better communication and support to citizens in need. We hope that you will continue to stay safe and take necessary precautions while traveling, and we admire your courage to explore and understand the world. Stay Safe, have a good time.

You literally posted a video talking about how there was a "Do not travel warning to Sudan" on the US embassy website before you even got there. You were almost bragging at how stupid they were for posting that because you're in Sudan living well. Had you listened to that warning you wouldn't have been in this situation in the first place. Had you sheltered in place, you wouldn't have been away from Khartoum when they said they were starting evacuations. Had you been prepared you wouldn't have been in the situation to be cashless in a hostile country that had a no travel warning issued before you got there. Then to expect embassy personnel to risk their lives even though you've ignored all the warnings, that situation is totally on you and your responsibility and you need to own that. Glad you're safe but this one is not on the US embassy. You took a risk and it didn't work out but you made the choice to take that risk, so the consequences of that choice have to fall on you.
@Lostshmi Жыл бұрын
Hey there! It seems to me like you didn’t listen to anything I said. I did NOT expect the embassy to do anything for me. I planned on getting myself out. But the email communication I received was sooo bad, it was laughable. And there were other Americans depending on the embassy, and I am thinking of those individuals. Also, many people expected me to take embassy help and I wanted to explain why that would have been near impossible even if I was expecting it. I may not be alive if I waited for the convoy they sent and just kept sheltering in place because I was so close to the area of fighting and it reached my street by the time I left. A travel warning to sudan obviously makes sense-it has a military coup every 2 years! By definition, it is unstable. I would never refute that. However, travel warnings fail to make an important distinction between danger from people vs the government. Khartoum had a very low violent crime rate-as opposed to say, South Africa-where it’s dangerous to walk the streets and interact with locals, where violent crime and murder rates are very high. This nuance is important. Anyway, I knew I had come to the country during a volatile period, when a transition of power was supposed to happen. I understood that. And I chose to travel in the country. And I got myself out on my own, without any help at all. It’s perfectly within my right to objectively criticize the US response-where the hell are my tax dollars going 😅
@tylerdurden9169 Жыл бұрын
@@Lostshmi your tax dollars are going to fund the wfp food you were eating. What you did is almost cartoonish, I could see it in an episode of South Park. Your character would be the travelling Instagram girl trying to get clicks. It's like if you walked up to a cave and there's a million warning signs before you get there saying "beware of cave there's a bear in here that will eat you" and you go into the cave and get attacked now you're screaming "why weren't the park rangers more specific about the threat that the bear posed". You were literally warned to stay out of Sudan and you're discussing the nuance of warnings? If you would have just done some research you would have found more information and filled in the blanks but you didn't need nuance, you needed to stay out of Sudan. Your expectation that you should get prompt email service in the middle of the chaos is laughable and ridiculous at best. The other Americans that were there also should not have been there, so they put their lives into their own hands. When you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. The only person you should be criticizing is yourself for making such a bad decision and traveling there and then bragging about it just days before it blew up. We live and we learn, be smarter next time.
