Why do you use a SLO and not the bottom drain on your large cone bottom fish tank ?

great question i just noticed that. Some of the plumbing is really interesting.

@Mark Nortz I did think of using the bottom drain when I was setting up. But I forget why I went with the SLO. When I got the big tank it had a giant 3in valve, maybe I didn't want to cut it off or something dumb like that can't remember.

@@vonponics I only as as I have just got ahold of some cone bottom tanks and was Wondering how people set them up to get the correct water levels

​@@ozzypunk1 just remembered I had it set up differently before. You can see in this vid. At the 5 minute mark kzbin.info/www/bejne/bH29d6x4mLmrna8 That could also be the reason. If u want to use the bottom drain on the conical tank when u set the level just have it plumbed with the pipe higher then the tank. Then fill the tank with with water, the pipe will fill and when u reach your desired water level cut it and finish the plumbing. If that makes sense.
