The change in Polish policy can't be the result of Trumps quote, unless they can travel in time. Similar with other countries. Germany has risen spending in 2022 (09:29). The real reason why Poles nad Germans rised their defence budgets was the Russian agression in Ukraine. Poland has had a very bad experience with Russia and everyone can now see the threat Russia poses in real time.

The US Department of defense thinks Ukraine can't win the war. Why? The NATO countries will supply weapons and the nature of the warfare requires very little. Cheap and plentiful drones are killing thousands of Russian soldiers weekly and Russian equipment is not protected from drone attacks. As such, holding on to territory is extremely difficult. Most importantly captured territory is essentially decimated and new construction / development cannot occur. A more accurate statement is "nobody can win the war and Russia will need to eventually concede". Perhaps this only happens after Putin dies.
@Comments1-vc8jg3 ай бұрын
@Turfklab It is true that the Ukrainians can't go "toe to toe" and have suffered huge losses. However, they have changed tactics and are using more drones and are very strategic in how they engage Russia. In addition, with the use of F-15 fighter planes and other NATO supplied arms and equipment the "balance" will be modified. Luckily, Ukraine is a large country; thus, taking (and holding) onto vast areas of land is not without huge costs to Russia. You mention how Ukrainians are a lot like Russians. I agree and think that's why Putin was so intent on having Ukraine since it would allow for more "blue eyed" Russian-looking types. Based on demographics people who look like Putin are a minority. In their place are many Muslims who don;t look like your typical Russian. For someone like Putin this is a major concern.....IMHO.

It makes now the world leaders understand the Ukraine War Biden is hosting Modi for a state visit this week as he looks to tighten his relationship with the leader of a nation of 1.4 billion that the U.S. administration sees as a pivotal force in Asia for decades to come. The pomp-filled visit will mark the two leaders’ 10th in-person or virtual engagement since Biden became president in 2021. Democrats were never mad that he was talking "bad" about China. Democrats were mad that he was talking "stupid" about China (and everything else). There are ways to level insults that don't make _you_ look like the fool, and that's what much of Trump's rhetoric did. Sure his supporters ate it up (which is all Trump himself cares about), but to everyone else he simply looks like an idiot when he does stuff like that. Especially when he's simultaneously bragging about how well he and Xi got along and posting pictures of them sharing a giant chocolate cake and whatever. Its the _stupidity_ we have a problem with. And by "we" I don't just mean democrats - I mean everyone who isn't a frothing-at-the-mouth Trump cultist. There's even a large segment of Republican supporters who are capable of seeing how absolutely ridiculous Trump makes the US look. Trump's not wrong when he says the world thinks the US is a laughing stock. He just doesn't have the self-reflective ability to understand that his presidency is close to the entirety of the reason the rest of the world has that view.

@CaspianReport , it's Russian-Ukrainian war, not Ukrainian war (or war in Ukraine) because it's war between states (Russia started it) and now it's being fought not only on Ukraine's soil but also on russia's - look a the matter how USA asks Ukraine not to hit Russian oil refineries cause it could rise oil prices and thus affect the elections in USA

it makes more sense to say Ukrainian war since this is an existential threat for Ukraine, it pretty much will define the next several decades for Ukraine, since of course Ukraine is more affected and has larger consequences from losing this war than Russia (since for Russia loss is just withdrawing from Ukraine, and its withdrawn from other nations before) whereas Ukraines sovereignty is being

I think it comes down to the simple fact that most Americans are tired of being the world's cop on the beat. We feel overworked and underappreciated. So many people just want to pull back and lock the door behind us. Add to that Trump's admiration for strongmen, and you have a world without rules, "no allies, only interests." I'm not with my fellow Americans on this, but one vote--even in Michigan--can only go so far.
@duncanidaho20977 ай бұрын
You’re confused. We Americans do have some allies. Some are conditional in their view. Many NATO nations are cutting their required defense spending, expanding their socialist structures while relying on the good ole America to take up the slack. And the Biden crime family has been taking $$ from so called “strongmen”-dictators ike CCP, Russia, et al. The Iranian “nuclear deal” made by the criminals like John Kerry and Obama, was a fraud. Iran can now proceed to develop their weapons, with the U S funding their terrorist proxies.
