Hi Shane, I already have one plus open, I used it for 3 months and I went back to duo 2 which for me remains the best in everything. I have my own company, I work in construction, and duo 2 resists wonderfully and helps me more than anyone and anything.

Surface Duo just keeps coming back :D

It's really amazing to see just how far ahead Surface Duo really was compared to newer phones. Of course, Duo lacked many modern features like an external screen and great camera but it was ahead of its time. Especially its price tag too.
@planofattack2079Ай бұрын
My main concern about the thinness would be the lack of space for the fold in the screen which you would think would make it more prone to developing a crease or crack down the center.
@Shoeboxcat7Ай бұрын
I really hope the OPO2 is a little wider this time. I'd like a little more screen width like the SD1/2 have. Hopefully they lean into the dual screen multitasking element too.

Surface duo is the bomb!

Still rocking the Note 20 Ultra... I ALMOST bought a used 9 Pro Fold for $1000 on offerup the other day, but decided against it for now... My N20U is still going strong, other than the abysmal battery life - I could put a new battery in it and I bet it would be as good as new... when the time comes I WILL miss my SD card slot...

I don't see how they can do a customized USB-C port and make it compatible with current standard cable fitment. Maybe a slight hump in the body over the port to accommodate it? I'm interested in seeing how this will be done. Of course, just assuming the body will be thinner than the ports we use currently.

Honor Magic V3 is 9.2mm
@AllanPhillipsАй бұрын
Exactly, so why is 9.x mm supposedly so unbelievably thin?
@CannataNFLАй бұрын
@@AllanPhillipsIt is compared to phones in the US market
@cristinacarpanini8461Ай бұрын
It's not, unless it's less than 9.2mm, but we don't know the measurements yet.
@AllanPhillipsАй бұрын
@CannataNFL It is indeed thinner than other US folding phones, but that still doesn't make it as unbelievably thin as this video implies.
@shanecraigtechАй бұрын
It's honestly insane lol
@dennan4Ай бұрын
The hardware of the Duo is pretty much the gold standard imo. Too bad it was never fully accompanied by software at the same level.
@sirxrlsАй бұрын
Any thickness greater than an honor foldable would be a disappointment

Hi Shane, I hope you're doing well. The OnePlus Open 2 will be my first foldable, do you have any advice when it comes to handling and takinng care of it? Do I have to wash my hands before touching the inner plastic screen? How do we clean it and so forth? Thanks
@shanecraigtechАй бұрын
No need to really do anything special imo. Don't poke at it with anything sharp, obviously.
@gropatapouf5998Ай бұрын
@scaryifliteral Basically, my wife can't touch my phone. Ok I think I got it, thanks 👍

Still love the Duo. I haven't taken mine out of the drawer for a bit. Thanks for giving me an excuse!

Hi Shane, sorry to bother you again with this question but I guess you haven't seen it in your previous OnePlus Open 2 video. When you'll get it in your hands, can you tell us if the Oppo stylus works safely on that new screen? And if yes, where can we buy that stylus? I'm very interested. Thanks.
@shanecraigtechАй бұрын
I never actually got that stylus because it was hard to find at a reasonable price. Hopefully they manage to leave that function in though..

@scaryifliteral Uh ok thanks for answering have a nice evening keep up with the good job
@kingman.mp4Ай бұрын
Microsoft absolutely should have continued. I don't think they understood what they had or its potential.
@Randomness662Ай бұрын
Huh???? Thinner than the Duo? I didn't even realize until you pointed out the specs. Being that thin with a SD 8 Elite is wild. Probably going to have an insanely thick camera bump though
@shanecraigtechАй бұрын
For sure

Honor magic v3 is (if i remember correctly) 9.7mm But materials, maybe titanium?
@xchapixАй бұрын
Thinking of getting this but how has your experience been with quality of screen? I get freaked out by horror stories of Oneplus customer service

Ugh. I just ordered the OnePlus Open for their black Friday sale. Do you think I should have waited? I'm trading my S24U

Shane, what has happened to your Dbrand Pixel 9 Pro Fold leather skin around the little Google symbol? It looks torn, and clearly, the "G" is missing. 😳
@shanecraigtechАй бұрын
It snagged on something and wouldn't lay back down. Had no choice but to remove it.
@callinItLikeIseeItАй бұрын
@scaryifliteral Well, 💩. That's disappointing. I'm feeling bad for you, especially considering how long you waited for it to be delivered. Ugh.

I mean, we're literally talking about numbers. Dimensions. So, yeah something like surface Duo.
@durianepicureanАй бұрын
Honestly, I don't know why having such a thin device is seen as a positive thing. I rather have a bigger battery with better heat management and dust and water resistance (IP68) but currently no foldable is rated at that.
