Thanks for another great video! I was able to do a real makeover using this. It was in a bathroom with medium green plastic tile on it from the late 40s. I thought it was just sheets of faux tile but they are real tiles, made of plastic and quite thin, but set and grouted like any other. A very strong wash, light sanding and then Stix and I was able to paint over it and it has held very well. Not a lot of work or money and didn't do have to do any tear-out or changing tiles, backing or anything like that.

May I ask what type of paint you finished the tile with and did you have to top coat that? I want to paint the tile in a small powder room and my front entrance and wanted to use stix bonding primer since I already have it on hand but want to do some sort of stencil over that with a workable mixing paint like chalk paint for a more worn faded look but if that won't work I would like to know what you used over the top of the stix and what you used to as a top coat? Please and thank you!

@@TheHealingHandsDuo Greetings! You may be surprised but I used Behr (Home Depot) Interior/Exterior high-gloss enamel. I have had very good luck with it in other applications for many years and decided to go with it. It has been holding up fine. If you were to attempt it, I would stress the point that cleaning and a light sanding are extremely important. Otherwise, you are not priming the surface but rather priming a film on the surface and that film will fail certainly. I hope it works well for you!!

@@newenglandman2413 Ok thank you I do understand the importance of spending a lot of time preparing the surface and I intend to clean it rigorously and to scuff sand the tiles as well but it's just the top coat that I was uncertain of and unfortunately I do not want my finished look to have a shiny surface. I'm going for more of a matte aged/worn tile look so I'll need a paint I can work with and mix and some sort of a matte primer over that but thank you and have a wonderful day!

What primer would you use to for shower ceiling to prevent paint from peeling?

Do you need to wear a respirator when using this? Or just good ventilation?

A standard cheapo mask is probably a good idea. I would strongly recommend a repirator if spraying...

I can’t get this primer off of my fridge. What can I do? I can’t get it off.

How fast can you painter over this primer?

Stix primer typically takes 3-4 hours to dry enough for recoating. However, for full cure and maximum adhesion, it's recommended to wait 3-4 days before applying a topcoat.
