Station I used to belong to, we bought a 1986 Pierce Lance 2000 GPM engine. It is still there and still used and looks just as good as the day we bought it

As a long time former resident of Hunterdon County I can say all the Fire and EMS departments throughout the county are full of selfless volunteers who dedicate years of time and life to helping the communities they serve. They are a different set of people who do and love serving the residents. Made me proud to be a resident for almost 20 years

My fire company has a 2003 HME/Ferrara. We bought it from Hope Fire company. Truck runs like a charm, shes our first due truck for anything. just so happened that our trucks are yellow so it fits perfectly!

Every firetruck should be using the rotary lights. As being a interior firefighter, the rotary lights give the swiping motion that cuts through the smoke inside a structure. I helps identify the A side of a building and also helps to identify a escape window. With the high power LED lights a firefighter can get confused and may often think that the flashing from LEDs is fire and not lights.

I have to disagree with the statement about "a truck is not a truck until it has a roto-ray" a Q is what makes it a truck.

So PA doesn't require a CDL for operations within the state of PA with a emergency vehicle, you may want to verify with the PA DMV... What may happen is something to do with a parade, ect, but I would definitely look into it! I have my CDL, but it's something to look into

Hey, I hope you see this. I've been a KZbin follow of yours for quite some time now. I'm a paramedic fire fighter in WV, we are looking into using medics on the county swat team and would love a few minutes to talk with you how to get a program like that started here. Especially in regards to insurance, liability, and medical direction.

19:51 looks like the last section of LDH is Red. I assume this to let the chauffeur know it's the last section.
@Vladimir-Putin- Жыл бұрын
From what I heard, there’s 1000ft of 5 inch on the truck, The red section is the 800ft. That lets the chauffeur know he’s got 200ft left after that red length
@ritirons2726 Жыл бұрын
Both correct. It’s up to the department to set the beds to their preference but it has become fairly common to have a different color hose as the last or second to last remaining length in the bed. Many departments use 100’ lengths of LDH rather than the standard 50’ lengths of the smaller diameter lines therefore when you spot the color change in the mirror you’d have roughly 200’ left.

what's the big deal- companies here in the east used to keep trucks for at least 20 years in active service, an 8 man 1500 pump- why would you want to get rid of it - oh wait- only a 500 gallon tank not the 1500 -2000 gallon and oh no gold accents on the inside.... here comes my BOOMER WHINE " Back in my day.... the first truck you had to qualify on was a 1956 Mack open cab 750 pump, Manual steering , double clutch.... " that was in the early 80's to run auto and brush calls. this is a nice Cherry Truck though.... 😃
