I was on a drill team as a child growing up in Seattle, my family moved to Portland and there was no drill teams, no steppers, no drumlines, and definitely no more double dutch. My elementary school in Seattle had a team, when I started the 4th grade in Portland my school had square dancing class lol. I was happy to go back home to Seattle for part of junior high and high school. When our parents and grandparents migrated north for economic opportunities they brought many traditions and culture with them and much of it has been lost over the years, on the West coast in particular. My heart was so happy to see this, and I hope little mama keeps up with it because she has a gift. They were all very good, but that baby is 5 😮 she has skill, poise, and unbelievable confidence. She has something that can't be taught.
